I never said I couldn’t be friends with a foreigner. And you know I struggle with vanity. Look at these dudes. Who do you think I’m going to favor based on appearance alone? And now I don’t really like either of them because I just can’t stomach that show boating crap that goes along with combat sports.

I’m making a joke out of it but I also agree 100%. Absent anything else to judge on, I’d always root for the ripped athlete. And I’ll always hate showboating.

PT Update

Well, as usual, my therapist kicked my butt today. But the exciting part is that today was evaluation day. My strength has improved all over. I’m still not quite there, but I’m close. My left arm is still further ahead than she’d like. The goal is for my right side to be within five pounds of my left side. My right side is actually stronger on some movements. External rotation still sucks. My new goal for that is to get it closer to my internal rotation on the same arm. For now, external is 31 lbs and internal is like 51 lbs.

The exciting part is that I’m not going to PT weekly anymore! I’m going back in four weeks for a checkup. It’s going to be up to me to continue working on this on my own. That should be simple, but I’ve been struggling lately. I’d be lying if I told you I did all my exercises on my own the last two weeks. I just need to write my exercises out and do them on my off days. They just suck so bad that it’s hard to do.

Other good news is that my scapular winging is basically gone. My right and left side are nearly symmetrical so I’d say that’s one goal achieved!

Maybe 500lbs was there if you tried it before failing 515lbs? Just thinking out loud.

This will just make you hungrier to get 500lbs in 12 weeks from now!

I posted the 515 fail the day after my failure. I had the same thought about getting 500 if I’d tried it first. I was just so darn convinced that I had 500 that I wanted to go bigger.

I’m going to smash 500 in 12 weeks, even if I have to get a little fluffy to do it. The problem is that I eat like crap when I know I’m not cutting. It’s not that I eat more clean foods; I just use it as an excuse to eat the things I actually desire. Gotta work on that.

Well, today showed me that I haven’t been working hard enough. Maybe that’s partly due to my shoulder recover or maybe it’s because I was just fooling myself. Either way, this session was not easy and these workouts should result in some growth of some sort.

These sucked. The bar moved well, but I had to be careful not to make too much noise because I was at work. The court rooms are under the weight room so I was really going slow on the eccentric to limit my noise. This reminded me why I used to split my workouts up and do the leg portions at home.

I’m not sure what you were expecting from sets of 8 deadlifts, but “that sucked” is exactly what I’d expect.

Hey man, I appreciate you allowing me to ask a question via you’re log. It’s just two short questions, I promise it won’t clog up the log, and if you wish I can delete the posts after asking said questions

  • after getting a tattoo, how long is the recovery time (how long til you can properly lift again)
  • doesn’t muscle gain/loss or fat loss/gain significantly effect the shape of a tattoo. Say over the next 2 years I gain 15-20 lbs of muscle… would it significantly warp say a tattoo of the shoulder?
