Read a decent amount about it, supposed to be good for inflammation. You got nothing out of it?
Yep
Like most supplements.
Yea, think there are benefits to most of them but in controlled environments in specific populations. Hard to suss out the impact, if any, when my diet, life and training have so many variables.
I’ll review the footage and get back to you
For me, at my latitude, it’s pretty essential. I’ve observed the effects in myself and others that begin taking it. Now, while being exposed to the sun can elicit a “I feel fantastic”-sensation, at least it can for me, I have never nor have I heard anyone remark “Wow! I feel good/great/amazing!”. Rather, it’s effect seems more subtle, manifesting at best as “I generally feel better overall” but usually it is better likened to there being an abscence of bad.
While the sun has started to peer out now more and more, I had a lot of friends and coworkers express their concern about feeling lethargic etcetera. — expressed as “I don’t normally feel this way, I worry about what is wrong” — and everytime I ask if they usually take D3 during the winter, which they normally do but have somehow forgotten this year.
Where I live it’s more akin to a ‘who’s grilling pork’ sensation.
We actually have some issues with low D levels because of how harsh the sun is here. People have to block it as best they can.
That’s pretty interesting. Is there any hour during the day where that is not an issue? How’s sunrise, and when is that (if it’s possible to answer with an average hour)…? Our shortest days of the year are ~4 hours. Our longest are “the sun doesn’t set”.
Anywhere until around maybe 0800 or after 1700 is probably ok, but the issue we have is the ozone layer is way thinner so more UV rays get through which makes it more dangerous. That’s why we try to block as much sun as possible.
Texas is pretty brutal in the summer too. A few years back we did 72 straight days over 100 degrees. In the winter it’s just whatever mother nature’s decides. Last week we had a tornado, then the next day it was 70s, the next day it snowed, and then back to 60s the day after lol
Does sunscreen inhibit the body from producing D3?
Did you see the forecast for next week?
80 then two days later 43… ugh!
It feels like 0 here right now. I hate it. It’s sunny and clear, too.
Yeah I’ve got a beautiful, sunny, 10* degree day not accounting for the wind chill. Supposed to drop to the negatives tonight. Looking out the window I want to take the dog for a walk, then I open the door and he’s like “dude f that” and I agree.
Sounds nice. Negative 25 here.
I love my dog, she has no interest in going for a walk if its raining.
F or C? Either way, my kind of cold. Nice.
I don’t really like the cold, but if its going to be cold I prefer when it’s proper cold rather than somewhat cold and humid.

*This took about an hour. I felt like I didn’t waste much time but it seemed to take forever. I’m thinking about changing my split to a traditional bro split, but I don’t want a leg day. It seems odd to do chest, back, shoulders, repeat. I thought about chest, back, shoulders, back, chest, back, shoulders, etc but it seems meh… I’ll proabably keep doing what I’m doing, but I suddenly don’t want to do RFESS. I saw the leg press today and the thought of high reps and the leg pump was almost exhilarating. Hmmm… I could throw that in on a push day instead of RFESS. I could do RFESS with body weight as a warm up and for hip health…![]()
I’m fairly certain CT mentioned at one point that he prefers incline over something like a straight OHP for shoulder development.
I know the feeling J, Keep you DL, if you can clean/powerclean then do that, leg press and a run once or twice a week and legs are take care of.
Good luck!
Maybe do legs (just RFESS), calves, abs, arms, conditioning? Just call it “legs + accessory”.
