Just. Don't. Suck (Part 1)

This post makes me happy.

Working in loss prevention, when I hear stories about trying to bust thieves of any kind, I smile.

Keep fighting the good fight, brother!

I’ve found a loss prevention group that shares photos, names, cars, and cases in real time through an app. I love it. We have so many cases that the ones with “unknown suspect” don’t get assigned to a Detective. Luckily, I’m now in a position to take what loss prevention shares and change those unknowns into real people who need to be charged. If I don’t do it then the cases die.

I seriously wish we had more cops like that. The only arrest I’ve seen come due to theft is because the guy had 70+ theft charges, and that was just from the company I’m contracted through. At that point, law enforcement thought, “Huh, maybe we should do something about this?”

I’m fortunate. I’m in a position that gives me a little bit of assigned work, but not a full time work load. I’m supposed to address trends on my beat or find something constructive to do. I like hunting down thieves so that’s my focus. This particular case wasn’t on my beat, but I was bored Friday so I started looking for work. I found it!

Happy to see that you’ve had a great training day.

Glad you like your new job, it’s just so rewarding to being able to pursuit something you like to do.
Well done man, well done.

0!

Luckily the basement is unfinished so my head fits between the main level’s floor trusses. It helps me stay balanced. There’s no reason to be lurching forward and backward and side to side. I have a pain penalty if I try that now.

Really interesting this high frequency approach (even if it’s not out of pure choice)
Curious to see the aftermath!

I’m enjoying it. If I do nothing else but the deadlifts during the day then I still feel like I did something.

I am actually concerned that I’m not picking up anything “heavy” often enough. I get to bump up the weight every 7th workout but with a couple rest days, that ends up being every nine or 10 days.

It’s very tempting to do the heavier pulls on a designated day of the week. I had great success on SGSS and that had hard sessions every week.

I’m resisting temptation for now and hoping to finish the program as written. One thing I’ve been missing is that I’m supposed to do different variations on the regular days. I need to work in some deficits and snatch grip (no sumo - I don’t want to mess with my hip).

This is so amazingly 90s I immediately did cocaine.

Your positive vibes day post is awesome! Way to go, man! Super cool to see you go the extra mile and punish someone that deserves it; the world needs more of that

ActivitiesGuy pulled 600lb without ever visibly straining on the deadlift or lifting “heavy”, so I think the daily dose method works.

One possible caveat- I realized is that all those guys who are lifting heavy tend to have an athletic/sport background that lasted for a good many years and involved some sort of true strength work OR started lifting at an early age.

So the daily dose method may work, but it’ll probably take a really long time to build up. The advantage should be that you hardly spend any real time lifting and your body never gets beat up.

I had to work late last night which might have helped me. It was my team’s turn to help close down out entertainment district so instead of working our normal schedule of 0800-1800 we worked 2100-0200. We definitely come out ahead because we still get paid for 10 hours.

I say it helped because I weighed 221.4 lbs this morning after 221.2 yesterday. I had three big slices of pizza for dinner so I was afraid I’d see a jump today.

Well, I planned to lift today… If I lift today then I’ll have tomorrow off. If I lift today then I’ll need to get my rear in gear because we have to be at church at 4pm (it’s 12:50 now).

I’m still sore from Wednesday. My SI joint is a bit off. My legs are tired. I think you can see where this is going.

I have nothing on the schedule tomorrow. I have all day to train. Everything is in favor of training tomorrow. The only reason to force a session today is to get my “schedule” back on track. I don’t think my body will notice.

I also think being up till 2:30am and sleeping intermittently is a big factor today.

Train tomorrow. The session today will suck.
