Priming the body to eat I see.
Happy Thanksgiving!
You bet! I should’ve done some cardio but I trained at home after my wife asked me why I bought the equipment if I’m going to continue going to the gym.
No elliptical here so no cardio. I thought about running outside but it’s in the 30s and raining. I don’t need much of an excuse not to run but that’s a good one.
We have a treadmill but I’ll break it. The belt slips when I use it. That weight rating is BS.
Nice work and happy thanksgiving day (what ever that is)!!
Haha! I did the exact same thing! At more than one house…
It’s a celebration of when the Pilgrims met the Native Indians. The Indians helped them get settled in and helped them grow some food.
The white people would later slaughter the Indians and steal their land. I’m not sure what we’re celebrating officially but I use it as a day of gratitude. It’s a nice break from work and school to count my blessings - and there are many. ![]()
So its kinda like our Australia Day, where we celebrate the arrival of the first fleet. The white people subsequently hunted and killed lots of indigenous Australians and stole the land !!
We seem to be good at that.
While adding insult to injury by saying it wasn’t stealing because no one owned it when they arrived anyway.
Ever get into rope skipping? One of my favorite small space/limited equipment/high effect bits of cardio. And with you being more of an athlete and less of a goon than me, you’d probably get a solid workout from it and not miss much.
We had a belt slipping issue with one of our treddies. Lubing the belt helps, as can tightening it (the basic maintenance they say you’re supposed to do), but it seems like a lot of home treadmills are built by companies gambling on the consumer not actually using them. My wife burn out the motor on one of ours, to the point that it would just randomly change speeds on you. The ultimate in interval training. I remember walking on it severely dehydrated trying to sweat out the last few pounds during a weight cut, and I was so terrified it was just going to go full speed and make me eat it.
We eventually just sprang for a commercial model.
I have one and I’ve used it for a tabata style interval but it requires a taller ceiling than my basement. I’m not sure if I could use it in the garage.
Our treadmill is new. I think they just lied about the right limit. It works great for my wife so there’s no reason for me to break it.
Oh yeah, that’s shocking then. Is it still under warranty? If so, little dirty secret (depending on the company) is that, if it gets enough warranty calls, they’ll eventually just call it a lemon and give you money towards a new model. We did that with the one that had the motor burning out on it. The technician is actually the one that clued us in on that. Believe it was a Nordictrack.

Still waiting for the exercise induced nausea to subside. Guess I missed the mark with my nutrition this morning.
We had a dude clue us in on this with a refrigerator. I guess the icemaker was known to be a problem, and there was a standard “four calls nets you a new model”
just curious as to what the, " 6 Weeks to 500" is?
500 Pound Deadlift?
500 shakes with a shake weight. He’s pretty close, but he’s really gotta buckle down and get shakin’.
I thought this was just to stay in shape through no nut November? Time to drop it tomorrow right?
This. I’ll even consider a 500 lb pull with the deadlift bar a success (I used a power bar last year).

Well, today wasn’t exactly awesome. I had PT and showed her my recent discovery. I can’t raise my arm overhead if I use a close grip bench arm path (lime a Rock Em Sock Em Robot). I can get my upper arm to parallel, but that’s where it goes bad. I have stabbing pain, restriction, and horrible weakness.
My PT suggested I go back to the doctor because we’re at a loss. I should’ve been close to 100% at 20 weeks. I’m at 26 weeks. The first available appointment is January 14th.
Forgot to mention today was eval day at PT. External rotation, abduction, and flexion were my weak spots last time. External rotation improved by 4 lbs but the other two went down by 2 lbs each.
