I’m not saying he couldn’t be lying. There’s always a possibility. I generally choose to believe people until they’re proven as lying. And even if nutty did lie this entire time, he definitely helped push me to be stronger throughout it. I mean, if Pwn didn’t routinely post his videos, majority would think he were lying. 405 for 60 on TBDLs and 225 for 10 overhead on an axle?? All the weak ass whiny dudes would run out screaming fake without video.
Jesus Christ, you guys are acting like people didn’t train before camera phones. I get it, believe me I do, but to knock this dude for not providing shirtless photos for a bunch of weird dudes online is pretty fucking ridiculous.
And yeah, I see how it’s crazy. I also see an opportunity to post 335x4x10 and 275x3x10. It just seems stupid as shit to go from posting genuine shit and asking a ton of questions about training to posting progressively stronger posts.
Again, if Nutty is lying, good on him for fooling me. I went to high school with a guy who squatted 600 and cleaned around 400 at 200 pounds. No one outside of my school would know this dude or ever know of him. I’m just gonna guess he isn’t the only guy in the world to ever do this without being known of.
It’s alright everyone. This honestly comes down to two things:
If I am a con, I’m wasting my own time and I haven’t bothered or spoke negatively to anyone. So it honestly would just be wasting my own personal time and no one else’s. If you don’t believe the log, don’t come in here lol. I’m not trying to sell you any products. I’m not selling you anything at all or trying to push an agenda. I’m not an authority on this forum.
If I am not a con, then I’m just an impressive lifter. Strong but nothing special compared to those in strength sports.
It’s ok, with or without video proof this is all mute.
I’m the voice of caution for the beginners listening to someone with false claims and advice that he’s regurgitating from others to make him feel special and important.
Hopefully they come here and read this before they jump on all his programs without questioning ANYTHING.
It’s the internet. Life’s too short to get mad or upset about something someone said about you on the internet.
I have no ill will towards you. I completely understand your position and where you are coming from. I don’t agree with it, but understand it. I wish you well man, I really do.
At this point if I post a video you can say “Oh those are fake plates!” So there is really no win win. I think what I will do is meet up with a fellow forum member, work out with them, and let them post the video and tell you guys what’s real and what’s not. Everyone wins and we can all move on.
What programs? double progression that people have pushed for decades? You sound so ridiculous right now. Back in the day dudes used to use magazine workouts and make insane muscle and strength gains. The amount of people who shit on Deep Water have never tried it, yet argue a natural could never do it and progress. If you’re a beginner and see this, let it motivate you to be stronger rather than being a bitter dude that’s upset he isn’t as strong as another guy on the Internet.
I just want to understand what a post of him doing these lifts is going to do. Let’s say Nutty posts a compilation tomorrow of all the lifts he’s done. What then? Are you going to give up and be upset because he’s stronger than you? Or if he’s faking it are you going to be gloat about being right and stop pushing to be stronger than everyone on this site? I just genuinely don’t get it.
All I see happening is him posting a video of him doing something, and people saying he’s using fake weights. That’s literally the only way out of this.
I agree, but I also see it from the other side too. I’ve never asked anyone to help me film. I hate taking to people in the gym and a lot of the time, it’s annoying in itself to video. The first time I hit a 20+ rep set with 405 on deadlifts, some chick knocked the camera over around rep 12. If I posted “Did X amount of reps with 405 but camera was knocked over at 12” tons of people would be like “Oh ReAlLy?!” It’s just not worth it.
To be fair, that’s one of the most believable lifts actually. I got to a 170 pound power snatch and 225 Power Clean within a few months of training as a teen while training like an absolute idiot and barely squatting and Deadlifting. I was 6’0 185lbs for reference. Then again, the Olympic lifts are weird because naturally explosive types can get strong on them really fast.
The 335 x 8 Bench is strong af though. That’s like a 425 max, and that’s assuming the 335 x 8 is a max effort.
I get that you’re invested in these claims being true for some reason. That’s fine, it’s your business.
Ask yourself though, you know most of us regulars on the forum. Someone posts a video doing some pretty impressive shit (Pwn, Flip, Reed, etc) how many of us have claimed fake plates? Or if a camera or phone obviously falls over during a set how many of us call fake numbers? I haven’t seen that once.
I don’t think anyone here voicing doubts is saying we want the claims to be untrue. I certainly don’t, I’d be impressed as shit if they turn out true. What we’re saying, broadly, is that if you’re going to go and say you can do some high level stuff (which a lot of this is, not world class but definitely high level) when a few years back you couldn’t do much at all, well, it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to post a video or two to back things up. When the person claiming doesn’t post videos but keeps saying they will and then comes up with excuse after excuse not to, credibility diminishes even more.
Didn’t a similar thing happen with Alpha/Brian Alsruhe? I feel like I remember him saying people kept calling out his lifts so he had to start videoing himself.
I was just wondering what the drama was all about with the gazillion posts, and had no strong opinion, until that ^^^. Which if you think about it, is actually a passive aggressive insult at youse all. Now I do have an opinion.
I also understand the people saying “prove it”, because once you start giving PUBLIC advice (which I believe @isdatnutty did (with a program he wrote I believe?), then you have overstepped the I just wanna do my own thing anonymously position IMO.
Even I managed to post a photo recently, because I had commented on someone else’s photo. Turnabout is always fair play, also imo.
