Thanks man. It’s starting to come along nicely.

I’m not remotely close to posting any shirtless pics, but here’s a video of me picking 515 pounds off the ground for a heavy single two days ago. I’m still working on mastering the movement, but I suppose you can call it a deadlift.

515’s nice man

That’s a hell of a fast beltless 515 pull; nice!

This is what I pictured a gym in Maine looking like.

515 - boom.

Thanks fellas.

I’ve actually never lifted with a belt. I’ve used straps a couple of times, but have not taken a liking to them. Knee wraps on my heavy squats, a full beard and a wolf t-shirt are my only lifting accessories at the moment.

Hoping to have some pics like AliveAgain36 to show in a year or so.

You should see the pool area. The walls are all painted to look like Florida. Dolphins, palm trees, beaches, all super-cheesy. I think it is supposed to make us feel warm when we are freezing in the dark for half the year. None of the equipment or decor in the entire gym is less than 30 years old except for the new shower heads they installed last week.

But at $300 a year with all of the lifting equipment I need, plus allowing chalk, foul language, inappropriate clothing, banging the weights around, a pool, a hot tub and sauna, it is a STEAL.

Thanks - I appreciate it. It’s been a good journey these past 2.5 years.

Looked easy mate  How’s them pull-ups?

recent vid, which is also in my log. Weight on the bar is 505 (also did 525 in the same session). Hit the same weight for a double a few days ago.

I’ll post a picture soon, haven’t taken one recently.

Bodyweight’s been around 185 for the last couple months.

Just snapped this for ya’ll. Morning after a low-carb (under 100g) day, so a bit flat IMO. Weighing 210. Have been trying to ‘cut’ to be lean, but it’s ended up being this odd recomp at about 210ish and remaining fatter than I’d like. Oh well, at least these update threads keep me honest

Nice pull. What sort of gym is that? Looks quite “different” from a normal commercial set up or even crossfit box.

Harder than deadlifts.

It’s actually just a Gold’s Gym (a franchise one) in Dallas. That room used to be a basketball court, and nobody used it, so they turned it into a ‘crosstraining’ room to cater to the crossfit crowd. They also do group cardio classes in there. I’ve got kettlebells up to 90 lbs, plenty of bumper plates, sledgehammers, a tire, racks, sandbags, battling ropes, rings, etc. available to me there. Pretty cool for a commercial gym. The best part is, only a handful of people use it. I’m going to be making some axle bars soon, will be keeping one at the gym.

That is amazing to have that sort of open space at a commercial gym. I would love that at my place instead of the place packed with machine after machine, so much that is it a shin minefield just to move from one side of the gym to the other.
