Julius Maddox 800lb Bench?

I don’t see any other way someone can raw bench more than I can (currently) deadlift, so I’m happy with this explanation. Hell no doubt hit 800 before I pull it too lol

Crazy to think that mid-high 700s are feasible nvm 800. Too bad Sarychev didn’t keep pushing after setting the WR a couple years back. He has done a lot outside of competing but imagine the battles that could’ve been had on bench

I was thinking the same, it’s a shame that he didnt have any competition at the time to keep him pushing. The reps I’ve watched from Kyril all looked pretty smooth, never looked like he was pushing it. Unfortunately I think he’s been out too long now, and is having too much fun elsewhere.

You just have to be a 450lb monster to have a chance

When it comes to pushing body weight how heavy can we go without just straight up dying. Maddox looks he can hold a few extra kgs

Glenn Ross was 547lbs at 6’

I hope he gets there before he starts getting pulled in other directions. He’s been training for only one lift for years and now he’s starting get quite a bit of attention. Eddie Hall is trying to get him into a log press challenge for example.

I hope he tells him to shove the log up his ass. Would.be pretty pissed to see him hurt his shoulder or back doing some Instagram shit.

That’s the thing, once you’re 350+ the odds of having a heart attack at any given time are pretty high. Combine that with drugs that enlarge your heart and you can’t expect to live long. Apparently Maddox wants to cut like 200bs or something after he’s done with these bench records.

He announced his intention earlier in the strongman community. It seems many of us haven’t learned our lesson from Larry Wheels.

Or Brian Siders.

But Kaz was cool.

Right up until he found the internet.

Of all the terrible things I have seen athletes do, that doesn’t even crack the top 500, haha.

You’re not wrong lol.

I don’t get the cross sports people, it doesn’t normally work out well. Not saying you can’t do more than 1 but you’ve got to devote time and effort into a sport to get decent at it first ( unless you’re a freak but then you place too many demands on the body and things go pop )

Come on now. Look at Hafbor: he cross competed and set the 10th highest total of all time.

And then there was Larry Wheels, who got second place in an amatuer competiton!

…ok, ok, I will try to be nicer.

I’m extremely triggered the weight of the log isn’t disclosed. But at least that awesome music was on loop for 16 minutes!

Probably ain’t that much relative. You’d know more than me tops 100kg? He said if he can clean it he can press it. I think this is where a lot more full power training would’ve been useful. I dunno how much Maddox squats/deads. He can row a lot though.

I’m inclined to believe he won’t break the record. It’ll get broken sooner by someone else in the strongman realm, I feel.

Could be wrong though. I feel as though he lacks the strength in his legs, hips and back to really support 500lbs overhead on a log. That said, I’m sure he’s certainly got 400ish in him with some time.
