Again, tough to judge with one photo, but let us not be too bias towards our boy here. That would be a diservice to him.

In the front double bicep picture, you see the 1st place guy has the edge in the lower body (which from my experience counts a ton at this level) and lets assume that his back development matches his front upperbody. Then the upperbody contest is a even wash with this guys legs giving him the edge for the win.[/quote]

Thanks for that explanation. Because I really don’t know how these competitions are judged.

1st place guys legs are bigger but show far less detail and separation. His conditioning doesn’t match Juliens.

Point taken, but like I said, it is tough to judge based on one picture. Too many factors could be going on right at that moment…bad camera angle for either competitor, who is fully flexed and who is in transition, lighting differences based on location on stage etc etc.

It is the luck of the draw at shows, you can’t control who shows up. Unfortunately, Zraw’s strength was his lower body and he met up with a guy who had an even better (maybe) lower body. With neither one of them having another stand out bodypart, I think the judges went leg for leg. Plus, sometimes shear size beats out the best of conditioning.

Only the score cards would shine some light on this. But it could be so close that something as simple as posing control, stage presence (smile Zraw), paint or even their evening routine could have served as a tie breaker. It is a heartbreaker (I know this from experience) but so it goes, either way its tight and Zraw looks great.

All I will say is this

Guy was bigger than me. I was the leanest guy of all categories and I had prettier lines than the winner of my class. He had about 20lbs on me on stage though

Headjudge comment to me : Just add muscle without losing your symmetry and you will be very hard to beat

Finishing 2nd is probably the best thing that happened to me as far as motivation is concerned… No one will outgrow me and win because of that, ever again. Next time I step on stage, I will be a clear winner BOTH because of my added mass and because of my conditionning, which will be even better.

As far as the goal is concerned, I went very conservative with 8lbs stageweight. Im aiming for 15.

Offseason training and diet start now

I will have a 4week period of training where I will be at a lower intensity but the volume will be higher. This is to avoid injuries during post contest rebound but still benefit from it.

Today is leg day : 24sets

I’ll ask John how much details I can give

Only supplement i will be using is Plazma, some whey iso, and fish oil

And yes, im in this for a procard. As far as what maximum stage weight would I want? There isnt really any limit, as long as I keep my lines aesthetic. I think I can do this and still add a lot of mass though

Guessing weight is hard to do, but I am betting J can get to 210ish on stage next year with what I have in mind. He is going to be doing almost the exact training that i used this year, and with Plazma to help him recover…well if I gained 12 lbs of contest weight, imagine what this young gun can do…

This is going to be fun!

You don’t say.

Definitely following along again. Your prep has been one of my favourite threads and I’m sure this won’t disappoint either.

I will definitely be following. . . This will be a great thread. . .

I can share pretty much everything as far as nutrition is concerned with you guys!

For the training I can give you guys an idea of the splits im doing, volume, combination of exercises I liked, etc.

This is def going to be fun!

Currently eating 2cups of white rice, something I had not done for a while!!
