Journey To a 700 Deadlift!

Checked out Global Strongman Gym today, it’s a fucking matchbox, bro; but it’s a damn manly matchbox. Literally opened the door, and what’s on the back? A FUCKING VIKING SHIELD. I also saw a circus DB for the first time in my life; it looked like 2 feet long.

This should be a tonne of fun; a metric tonne, to be specific.

Gonna start in 4-6 weeks after this off season type thing to make sure I don’t run into an injury on my first carry.

I have returned from the dead to show you awesomeness:

Bodyweight: 242lb

This was the first lift of the day. Pretty fun.

Holding on the this slippery sum 'a bitch was hard, which is why I missed 315.

This was EASY; pissed that the next camera guy didn’t get my 300/hand.

All in all, great session.

This is my first day training this move. I could have definitely done this 2-3 times, but hey, first time.

I’ve also come to the conclusion that carries (kegs, stones, sandbags), and stone loading will result in more elbow flexor hypertrophy than ANY amount of curling I could do.

1st Workout:

Log Clean and Press Each Rep: 222.275x7x2
Did some stones (230) to 54 inches, and did some work on my shitty pick.
Deadlift: 496 (495.92)x6x2 not very hard.

2nd Workout:
Incline DB Bench: 75x6x6-8
SS
Cable Row: 200x6x8 EASY/Strict

Dips: 2x10
SS
Rows: 200x2x10

Pullup: 44.092lb/20kg for 5x5 @ 244 (241 if I subtracted my boots).

Did:
550 Yoke - 90 Feet
600 Yoke - 45 Feet
550 Yoke - 45 Feet (Couldn’t bring the 600 back)

300lb Duck Walk - 90 Feet

750 Tire Flip - 5x2 Pretty Easy

Leg Press - 4x12 1x30 Breathing Reps

5x5 GHR

Today:

Looks like you’re having all kinds of fun there. Where’s dat dere bodyweight at?

About 245 carbed up, trying to get down to like 230 carbed up.

So, yesterday, hit a 640 yoke for 50 feet. Honestly the hard part is stopping the momentum (can’t just drop it, we’re on the second floor).

Damn, Haven’t updated this in a while,
