Everyone i talk to thinks Jones is gunna run through Hendo, but i seriously think everyone is counting out Henderson Completely.
What do you guys think?
lol nvm fights off! Henderson had an injury and chael wanted to take the fight but jones backed down and is fighting machida at the end of september
Jones is a chump , I lost a lot of respect for him after this bullshit.
I don’t think he is a chump, he is the champ why is he obligated to fight somebody who isn’t even in his division who can’t beat the champ of his own division. Dana is just pissed because he lost his show. You would think that he would be pissed at Henderson for getting hurt.
I’m kinda disappointed that jones would not defend his title, when your a champ you take fights as they come. i think jon forgot that shogun took his fight on short notice.

He definitely seems like a different guy. Earlier in his career (which I guess wasn’t all that long ago) he seemed like a legitimately humble, hard working guy. Maybe the title got to his head.
It’s “lose-lose”, except for the fans that’ve waited to see him fight. He’d rather “relinquish the title” than fight Sonnen? Not cool.
Anyhow, I saw they’ve announced Jones-Machida 2 for UFC 152.
funny, i have never liked machida, but i hope he knocks jones out!

Sonnen moved up to 205 after his loss to Silva and is facing Forrest for his first fight, so Jones and Sonnen are in the same weight class.
Injuries happen, it sucks but you can’t get mad at someone for getting hurt because they were training for a title fight. What was Dana supposed to do? Sonnen was the ONLY guy to accept a fight with Jones on 8 days notice, and Sonnen would have been the only guy who could sell this fight to the fans on 8 days notice with loads of trash talk.
Jones is apparently the number 3 P4P after Silva and GSP. Sonnen hasn’t trained since his loss to Silva and is basically a smaller version of Henderson with no knock out power. I’ve never been a fan of Jones, but he takes this fight easily. He’s already training for takedowns and to avoid the overhand right, now all he has to worry about is take downs. Easy money.

He didn’t know he was THAT good in the beginning
On the other hand he’s right. Sonnen is not a contender more like a waste of time and space, make more money a month later fighting Machinda.

For the record, that picture you posted was just Chael trash-talking Jones a few days ago, Jones didn’t actually say those things, Chael fake-retweeted. That’s the whole reason Chael got offered the fight, because he’s been trying to make a feud between him and Jones for the past couple weeks. Why should a fighter from a lower division on a one-fight losing streak get a shot at the title?
I do agree it sucks that Jones didn’t take the fight, and I see it as kind of similar to the whole GSP situation. GSP won’t fight aggressively to make exciting fights for the UFC and the fans, because there’s more risk, even though he’d probably still win as he’s the better fighter. Just like Jones won’t take the fight on 8 days notice to help out the UFC and for the fans, because there’s more risk, even though he’d probably still win because he’s the better fighter. I dislike both of those things, but they’re the champs, and all they seem to care about is keeping their belt and maintaining their legacy.

Me neither but I agree I will be pulling for Machida here. Something about Jones just doesnt make me like him.
I have giving him critiscm for the Rashad fight where he didnt try to finish because he didnt wanna get caught but even something else about him. Sometimes guys just rub you the wrong way I guess.
yeah, I dont agree with him being ranked in the top three for p4p…not yet at least
Jones is to afraid to lose he doesent even want to fight machida again because of $$$ , and he standing guillotine choked him . Jones would poop all over sonnen he’s a fucking chump and a bag of douche .
LOL What are people looking at? I wasn’t the biggest Jon’s fan but, He’s afraid to lose? Shouldn’t be in the P4P top 3? LMAO, he took out every major contender in his class in little more than a year without breaking a sweat. The only person people give a chance to is someone many consider the greatest ever who everybody knows in all honesty is significantly weaker.
So why shouldent he fight chael , if he’s the best and I’m not gonna argue that . Then he should have no trouble running through chael
So, maybe I’m missing something, but is everybody buying this Dana spin job?
Why couldn’t the UFC just run the card sans title fight? It’d be weaker card, sure, but at least every fighter would get paid and the only people who’d take a financial risk would be Zuffa. Oh, wait, can’t have that.
Jones could take the fight, or not. But it’s not HIM who canceled the CARD. That’s not even remotely his decision.
LOL Jon Jones is the scariest fighter in the UFC, and in a year has already had the best run at 205 ever in the UFC -better than Chuck or Tito.
Why risk any blemishes to his career, legacy, and earning potential by fighting Chael on short notice. Chael`s been talking about fighting Jones for a few weeks now. His close friend Dan Henderson has been training for Jones for a while, and could offer him a lot of insight, while Jon would have 8 days to come up with a game plan for Chael.
And what does he gain by fighting Chael? If he loses no one will give him props for taking a fight on short notice. Rampage fought hurt at UFC 144 and no one at the UFC actually came out in support of him when he did. Dana was making fun of Cody McKenzie after he was fed to Chad Mendes. Miguel Torres lost two fights only in the UFC and got cut. Dana was hinting at wanting Forrest to retire a few weeks ago.
You get nothing for taking one for the team and putting your career at risk. May as well look out for number one.
Its not that jon wouldnt just fight sonnen, he told dana he would not fight anyone in eight days. its not a dana spin when its the first time ever that a fighter has turned down a fight.
And i think the reason ufc cancelled is because in calgary they changed all the fights and fans were pissed. people wanted to see a title fight, and without that fight the fights sucked. Fans would be more pissed about a non title fight then to be refunded and go to another fight. You dont think zuffa is taking a huge hit right now?
The UFC should stop putting out such shitty cards like theyve been doing lately. Then they won
t be toast if the headline fight gets cancelled.
It`s their fault if they have a card so shitty one fight being cancelled will means shows off.
Yeah have to agree with you on that one
