I felt good at 365x3 bec I knew I was close. But when I pulled 405 I only felt anger at why I wasn’t pulling 5plates already.

Lol I said that in my head and it sounded like that scene in TropicThunder. “I don’t know what its called. I only know the sound it makes when it takes a man’s life”

Pulled 375 yesterday for three singles. Getting closer …

I’m in too, pulled 355 last Friday going for 405 by end of summer (friday before labor day) Congrats on the 405 accomplishment ashylarryku and those farmers looked pretyy fun (sweet gym you got there).

Count me in, did 195 for 8 on Monday!

Thanks thompson. That gym is awesome to say the least! It’s the strength club on campus at Kansas University. 6 power racks, DB rack to 100s, kettlebells, bands, chains, chalk, and an unbeatable atmosphere of dedicated guys.

I pulled 350 X 1 a little over a month ago, you’ll be there in no time man!

Way to set the bar high! Seriously, as long as you can see yourself doing it and put in the work, you’ll get there man. I pulled 250 for an ugly rep 9 months ago, just a matter of time bud!

Alright been lurking for a while but couldn’t resist any longer. I’m 5’10" 190 and hope to pull 405 conv. by the end of the summer. Am on 5/3/1 and best dead so far is 345x2.

My deadlift workouts are pretty standard, 5/3/1 deads followed by BBB deads, ab rollouts.

I do not have access to a gym at the moment. Last time I deadlifted at the gym, I did it at the end of my workout and got 330 1RM. Nowadays at home I can only do sets of 295 x5. I’ll go for 405 by the end of the year once I get back on the college campus.

That’s not bad at all. When I first started lifting 10 months ago, my back hurted after pulling 120. Now I’m fine even after pulling 300+ PRs.

I think i’m going to jump into this too! Best so far has been 375x1, I’ve been stuck at that for a while. I know I’m close, tried 405 once and it left the floor. Going to continue with 4x3 and add weight each week.

I just reached the 405 a few weeks ago, pulled 415 for one rep today and felt really good. I only started deadlifting about 5 months ago but at 6’3" 220 I think I have a good build for the exercise. Now if I could only get my lagging bench (275 max) to 300 I’ll be pretty happy.

yep i’m in, i pulled 365x1 last week, and it was at the end of a DL routine, so i might make it by the end of the summer. good luck y’all.

This is what I’m talkin’ about, keep up the hard work (those tryin’ to hit 405) and for those of you who nailed it, congrats! Move up to 415!! I did some weighted hyperextensions today (with 25lb plate), going to DL again on Monday if all goes well!

My son Tom Jr. did 355 today at 132 pounds. We actually thought it was 345, but then looked after he did it and realized we had two tens on each side. His twin sister did 150 x 7 at 115 lbs in her third deadlift workout ever.

Did Week 3 of the Coan/Phillipi Routine. Did 310x2, then speed deadlifts at 255 for 6 sets of 3.
I felt faster off the floor with 310. Seeing as I could barely budge 315 a month ago, this makes me happy

Hi all,

Reading this thread brought back old memories as I was just like all of you. I was stuck at 375 for an entire YEAR, due to several injuries including dislocated shoulder and multiple sprained ankles which constantly kept me out of the gym. However, after reading some Westside articles, I ditched the deadlift all together for 4 weeks, and instead did heavy sessions of good mornings and box squats to work the same muscle groups as the deadlift (Westside Barbell rarely ever does deadlifts during training, only during meets). After 4 weeks, I decided to max out on the deadlift just for shits and giggles and to my surprise I pulled 405 EASY. Sometimes, taking a break from deadilfting and switching up the exercises is all you need to break through that plateau. Hope this helped.

Pulled 258 pounds for 3 sets of 4 reps. Two of the sets were easy because a hot chic was watching me. One set was difficult when she wasn’t watching. Anyone experience this?

Once in a while, I either do my best when I’m totally alone (no one else in that part of the gym) or when my wife is with me. Plus it helps when they turn the stupid fucking radio off.

I’m in. Currently I am doing 5/3/1 (12th cycle) recently set PRs pulling 311 for 5 reps (July 17th) and an easy single at 341 (July 11th). My deadlifts have been going up fairly steady each cycle using the Boring But Big template and including 5/3/1 power cleans (doing only the prescribed reps with a few in the tank, currently up to 165) before squats and deadlifts.

Here’s my contribution, from my first comp this past April. Sorry its sideways, I can’t edit for shit.

Lol of course dude that hot chick watching gives you that little extra.
