New to the site this week so I thought I would jump in here. Always have been a sorry deadlifter, used to do only sumo up until a few months ago. Right now on the 3rd week of the Bill Starr 5x5 and pulled 335x5 on Wednesday. My goal for the end of this 12 week cycle is 405x5.
I’m in. I pulled 380 on my last 5/3/1 cycle. I know I can hit 405 next time.
Also on 531. I should be able to pull 405 by the end of this year…
I am actually running what I call 3/5/1 which is essentially laid out in 5/3/1 for powerlifting. Basically I pull ME singles on the 3 day, do my 5 day, pull ME singles on my 1 day then deload (kinda). The main difference is that 90% of my 1rm on my 1 day is my cycles “training max”. I am going to do that until I plateau then either run a strict 531 or follow jim’s weight progression exactly.
Oh and his 395 yesterday. Will film my next ME day.
Hit 355 a few days ago on my 5/3/1. Did it by accident cuz of bad kg conversion math lol. Should be at my old max soon

Just finished the Quest for 315 this past Wed. now onward to 405.

I pulled 315x2 last 5/3/1 cycle, looking up at 325 in two weeks.
I’ll hit 405 before the year is over.
Hit 325 for an easy triple. My lower back’s going to be the limiting factor here for sure. I wore a belt which helped, but I’m not sure that this is worth it. Going to stick with it for the time being and see how things play out, but I’m not sure if I’ll stick with deadlifts if my back gets worse.
300x4 - on track to 405. About 1/4 of the way through this training cycle. Got some straps in the mail yesterday, just have to see when/if they become necessary.

I’ve got a belt, and straps, but managed 315x5 without them. Not sure if I’ll use them for my 405 attempt, probably will at least use the belt.
Seems we’re close in DL. When you aiming for 405?

It doesn’t count if you use straps. ![]()
PR’s 175 kg (385.8 lbs), but that was over a year ago. Last time I pulled moderately heavy I got 335 for a triple (about a month ago). Not a max, but the 3rd rep wasn’t pretty. No deads in my program right now, but this sounds like fun, so I think I’ll throw them in when I switch things up in a couple weeks.
