Cheers! Now to get my bench and squat up to something respectable, haha.

You and me both with the friggin bench, man… I really hate bench! lol
I deadlifted tonight and hit 265 for 13 for my 5/3/1 3+ set. (with rather nasty form on the last few reps. But I still got it!) That’s a 15 lb PR from last week.
Anyone have any thoughts on whether I should modify 5/3/1 and bump up the weights a bit? These high rep top sets are pretty ridiculous haha!
I still want to race someone! There’s gotta be someone around the same weight right now.

I’m not a massive fan of high rep DLs for that very reason; my form breaks down!
That’s why I like to stay with 6 reps working up to heavy triples - just need to make sure I deload every few weeks otherwise I burn out lol.
You following the 5/3/1 for Powerlifters?

No, this is the way it’s supposed to be.

I’d probably agree with Chris - the program is written to work as it is. Might not work as well if you start messing with reps.
I’m not really doing any version of 5/3/1. Just using the progression scheme for my deadlift.
It certainly has been working well so I’ll just stick with it as written. I’ll put a little more effort into staying tight on those last reps too. And if that knocks a few reps off, then so what.

Damn, I think I have that 405 in me somewhere. Definitely gonna pull it before summer

Bet you have it then. When you gonna test?

You definitely have it.
I pulled 365 for 3 and when I did 400 it felt like I probably still had another 10lbs in the tank.
Go for it.

Im considering it the next time I deadlift. If all feels good I will.
Just hit 280 for 8 very good form reps. (I definitely had a few more in me if I let my back round and hitched it… No more of that though.)
got 345x7 today.
I’ll jump in here, best single I’ve pulled is 365.
You’re pretty close to where I am. Wanna get a little competition going? ![]()
I’ll join you guys. I pulled 375 with terrible form and I’m only going to be pulling with near-perfect form from now on. Pulled 305 for a very, very easy 5 yesterday.
I’m in on 405, I hit 385 in Iraq in like august time-frame. But it has gone down to around 330 or so since. So I need to getback where I was before I can progress. SHould be back to 385 in a short enough time. On 5/3/1 now.
sure i’m in too. did 365 for 1 rep in december. form was terrible.
starting sheiko this week. hope to hit 405 after this cycle (i’m optimistic.)
I’m at 470, but have fun. You’ll get there soon. I remember hitting 405. I was so happy. Now, I am for 600. “4” seems like such a small number after you hit it, LUL.
