Thanks guys. I tend to rush my setup a lot on big pulls because i don’t want to psyche myself out about the weight by taking too long, I guess I’m gonna have to try harder to calm down and lift with better form
Pulled 375x2 on monday…i can taste 405
Gonna step back from this challenge for now… I’ve begun wrestling (no more power lifting) and unfortunately this isn’t a core movement. I’ll still be deadlifting, just at the end of my workouts now and some speed work on leg day. Good luck to the rest of you for 405!!
Just hit 415 last week. Next stop is 495!
might as well pitch in - pulled 363 1 rep at 160lb this week (pb) - must confess i was wearing straps but i’ve been steadily adding 5.5lb’s a week for the last few weeks. Long may it continue!
Update from me - pulled 180kg (4 plate) from below the knee on a rack pull.
I have a meet in about 2 weeks where I plan to hit the 180kg pull.
Pulled 385 three weeks ago, so next time I max out, I should be able to get it. Good luck.
Luke
Just pulled 4 plates a side last night
Got it for 3 reps and felt good for another rep or so.
Good luck to everyone still going at it!

Nice man! 3 reps, awesome!
Pulled 405 last week. Felt like it went up fairly smooth but I know my form broke in my upper back. I think my shoulders are getting ahead of the bar maybe.
I think I will drop down, add in more assistance work and test it again in a month or so.
Forgot to post. Got 405 about two weeks ago. Slight hitch, not gonna lie. Weighed 162 day of. Trying to get the BW up to 185 and hit 495 next. I honestly think the mental obstacle was why it took so long.
Pulled 380 x 2 and 390 x 2 off of blocks yesterday. Should have 405 shortly. I tried for 405 a month ago and literally lost it an inch from lockout. Now I’ve got Brian Schwab helping me with my program, and I can tell already 405 will just be a starting point.
Hit 405 yesterday! Went up really fast, onward to 500!

x2! Next on deck 5 plates.
Sitting at 395 @ 190# BW but also doing this at 8000Ft elevation. I find that after 7-10 days back at sea level I can usually do two reps at what was my 1RM at 8000ft ! Hoping to get the four plates by Labor Day.
No pain, no injuries, no problems ! Lift Strong(er) everyone and continue this quest !
I finally pulled 405/185kg last week. Hit 180 in April, glad to finally have a new PR after 3 months without making progress.
How are you supposed to train for a new PR if you’re doing 1rm singles though? Do you do your previous PR as your last warm-up and then try to beat it? My last warm-up lately has been 170kg, but then when I fail on a PB attempt and have no reps left in me, I’m lifting below my PB so it’s like I’m going backwards.
With a great crew at Milwaukee’s Brickyard Gym, I got 405 today, and that was after working up to a 245 bench PR. Now I have 500 in my sights.
Guess I should chime in since I absolutely LOVE deadlifting.
Current bodyweight is ~150lbs, and dropping…trying to cut (I know, stupid), but I’d like to be in the lowest weight class possible for my first powerlifting meet. As long as I’m not LOSING strength I think I’m good.
Anyways, bodyweight at 150lbs, current DL max is 345lbs. Waiting for a belt from Inzer in the mail, I think it’ll really help me push through since my lower-back seems to be a real weak point for me, not just in dead lifts but squats as well.
This week will be the last week of my training cycle and I’m definitely going to pull 405 when I max out next week. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a video up. Good luck, everyone.
