DAMN. Impressive. The back rounded slightly as you went up but your thoracic extension at the top was intense. Aim for that 3x’s bodyweight, that’s one of my goals as well(gotta a little ways though). I’m talking standard deadlift for me, though, my long legs aren’t too fond of sumo squats.

To everyone else, take strong consideration on mentally preparing yourself for the four-plate lift. When I was training with a gentleman much more experienced than me, he told me that he could tell I was scared of getting four plates up. He claims he could read my face(must have been pretty scared). Different for certain people, but I had to channel all my hate/rage/angst/pain and let the barbell be the representative of them and find the confidence that you can overcome it. Find that place and tear it from the floor. Shelby Starnes also recently posted a livespill on owning the weight as opposed to the weight owning you. [/quote]

Thanks! I’ve been trying to do a lot of back work so that I can keep it locked in better and avoid rounding. How far are you from 3x bodyweight?

Far. I walk around at 205 and most recent DL PR was 535, and it was brutal(again, I have a strong feeling the mental side is having an impact; those five plates with their 25 lb. buddies are intimidating). It’s always been a long-time goal of mine to get 3 x’s BW up but I’ve recently been thinking about pursuing some mass-gaining, might go back up to 225-230, but that of course considerably changes the goal of 3 x’s BW lol. Kind of juggling my options right now. Keep that shit up though, you’re not far.

285 x 6, 5, 4

I’d love to join as well. My current max is 325 and I’m starting 5/3/1 next week. Goal is to have the 405 within a year.

In. Hit 315x5 earlier this week. I’m shooting for 405 by the end of my novice progression which I’m guessing is around 6 weeks to two months from now. Hope to get to 455 for a meet at the end of the year via Texas Method after novice programming.

Will try for 305 tomorrow.

I’m in for this. I just started DL’ing again a few months ago after fracturing a few vertebrae several years ago. Hit 375 last week, felt reasonably good. Hopefully in the next few months 405 will fall.

Still chasing 405 here…hope to hit a new PR double/triple on tuesday. Best lift from about a month ago was 355x2. - YouTube

Id like to hit 405 by end of summer or sooner if possible!

385x3 today I think I should get it next week

Pulled 365x2 today. Another step closer to 405!

Got 396lbs (180kg) x 3 reps last week so decided to go for 405 (185kg) today, got it

It was a nice clean lift. Had more in you.

I hit 405 about a month ago, been stalling since then but I just started5/3/1 so well see what happens

I’ll join the quest.

Havent pulled my 1 rep max in a few months, I did an oly lifting cycle, but supposedly that will help my deadlift, I feel stronger from the ground so I guess I’ll find out this friday. My guess is 340-350ish.

Thanks man, felt like I had more in me, always next week!

I’m in. My max is 300 or slightly more right now. I want 405 by September 1.

395 deadlift @ 132 pounds bodyweight. Wasn’t that clean but it got up. Would I have gotten called for hitching on this? Also, have my next meet next saturday. Hoping the adrenaline of the meet will get me up to 405 or 415

I’d call a hitch on it. Pull it smooth. If mine would stop when I was younger I’d put it back down. Old USPF rules had the bar stopping equals no lift.

Get those hips down and back more xnerverbackdown. this along with getting the slack out of the bar will help you stay tighter on your pull.
