I’m 16 and weigh around 170lbs, and I’m aiming for a 180kg deadlift (about 400lbs).
Right now I’m at 140kg (308lbs).
I aim to pull 150kg in 6 weeks, and reach 180kg by next summer.
If I bust my arse on my assistance and eating, I don’t think I should have a problem reaching it.
I’ll jump in on this.
Just started 5/3/1, so I won’t be approaching those weights for a while. Before starting 5/3/1, I hit 365. Today I hit 285lbs for 9… using Jim’s 1RM calculator that puts me around 370lbs.
I’m 5’9, about 175lbs. Sticking around this weight for a while until my strength gains halt.
Just home from nailing 185kg (407 lbs) at the gym.
I’d never tested my 1RM before but had estimated it to be about 395 lbs based on pulling 260lbs x 16 two weeks ago.
oh yeah, my video work needs a bit of practice but there should be enough proof there :).
Any criticism of my form is welcome (from whatever you can see…)
I’m definately in on this. My goal is by May 6(end of the school year)…got 300x5 today which puts me at 349.5 using Jim’s formula
got 285x5 today getting a little closer haha
ha just saw this, im game too. 5’6 153-155. pulled 375 about a month ago to see what numbers to use for 5/3/1. think im doing a meet in a month so hopefully ill bust the 405 and maybe more there. although i am trying to lose about 8 lbs to get into the 148s. today was deads for the 3rd week on the first cycle. 320x6 my last working set. also i dont think im gonna deload for this month, just keep going and deload for the week leading up to the meet on the 19th.
I would love to get 405 by the end of the year, but I just don’t know if it will happen. My max right now is about 300 and I’m doing 5/3/1 so it might be a while before I get there. Maybe a more realistic goal would be next summer. Happy 4th of July right? My DL has been shooting up lately though. Either way I’m definitely gonna get there! Btw I’ll be doing conventional DL most likely with a mixed grip. No straps.

Maxing out March 11. Last attempt pulled 395…I think this is my time. 5’7" 160, will probably be around 165 then. I feel like I could get it right now, when I think about it. Makes me anxious thinking about it haha
375 is a PR for me going for 365 for 5 with a little help of ammonia and caffeine
Hey guys im close to a 405 dead- yesterday was week 2 of my 2nd 5 3 1 cycle and i did 325x8 (sumo) however i tweaked my back a little bit (ill be fine by monday) anyways i have a few questions for yall:
1- where am i sopposed to wear my belt for deadlifting? i have a Titan Powerbelt and i think i might be wearing it too high up on my stomach, in the first post of this thread matt kroc is wearing his so the top of his belt is around his belly button, is this right? the guy who sold my belt told me you should wear it higher up to support your abs, im not sure what the deal is here?
2- How soon should i attempt 405? i want to get it soon, but its really important that i dont hurt myself in the process( ive had lots of lower back problems, hence the sumo style). Last workout with deads was 325x8, should i wait till im repping out 365? (could take a little while to get to since im doing 5/3/1)

Doing 5/3/1 and an Army styled training regimen.
I’ll keep deadlifting till I can’t reach the bar anymore.
405 will happen for anyone who will put in the work.

I went from 315 to 440 in 6 months it’s more than possible
