Nice DLs, Joe. And at least I am not the only one who finds high rep lower body workouts to be killer.
How do the GMs feel?

Strangely enough Strick, the first set of GM’s is always the hardest. My shoulders don’t want to get me get the bar on my traps at first so on the first set the bar is always to high. But after that second set things are golden.

Thanks. I am going to have to try these, as I am still avoiding pulls. I need something put a degree of stress on the posterior.

My advice, not that I should be giving you advice given our relative levels of strength, would be to start super light and really stretch the hams and glutes. Then ramp up as you get more accustomed to them.

Joe, I intend to do just that. Having never done them before, I am starting with the bar.

So since I’ve had this log I’ve gained 25lbs. I’m not big or even thick but I’m working on it.
So you all get the special treat of my winter sun starved back.
Now to put on 25+ more without being an utter fatass.
Cycle 6-Week 3-Day 1
Bench
5x170
5x195
6x220
5x10x160
Rack Pulls
5x10x450
Face Pulls
5x10x57.5
Every time I try and do GMs I end up with the bar on the back of my neck. That’s why I stick with straight legged DL. You’ve come a long way Joe. Weren’t you struck at 210 just a couple of months ago. Are you looking to compete at PL? If not, a lot of the BBs I know don’t even BB bench anymore. They do inclines, flyes, cables, etc.

I’d like to compete in PL at some point though my own insane levels of vanity keep trying to make me get SWOLE. I’m such a kid sometimes.
I need to fit stiff legs in my routine somewhere but I have no idea where I could shoe horn it in.
I also think rack pulling the day before squats is starting to impede my progress slightly.
Cycle 6-Week 1-Day 4

1x255
1x275(+10 PR)
5x10x165

5x10x190* Done mostly to try something new.

BB and PL are not necessarily mutually exclusive, particularly in the lower weight classes.
If you’re doing boring but big assistance, you can do 2 or three sets of one exercise and the remainder sets of another. Volume is about the same and you can work weak points with your exercise choice.

That actually a really interesting idea, I’ll have to give that some serious thought.
Good looking numbers JG. I’m really impressed with your squats. And those deads are very good. I hope to be there soon.
