Joe, I’m sorry for your loss. I spend alot of time acting as Staff to two 16 y.o. kittehs, and I know what you are going through is around the corner for me.
Thanks SD, I’m just trying to keep the weight moving.
Eco, you are absolutely right. I just need to get over it and get on with adding muscle for now.

Thank you, Kimba. I knew he was getting on up there in years but it was very sudden and you really don’t think about just how much a part of your life they are until they aren’t meeting you at the door after work.

Nice job on the deads, Joe.
345 x 7 is great pulling, nice work, Joe.
I told you that you could pull 345 easy ![]()
Joe-
+6 on a PR at 345…awesome job, son!!
Thanks guys, Tuesday triumph will hopefully erase todays disappointment.
Cycle 5-Week 4-Day 3
Bench
5x190
3x215
2x240(+1 PR)
5x10x150
Rack Pulls 5x10x445
HS AB Cr
5x10x105
Well as you can tell my money set was a flop. While I have never done 240 for a double I needed to get at least 3 reps and failed. I’m going to chalk it up to my caloric intake fall off and move on to cycle 6 next month. If I continue to struggle with bench I’ll reset after my bench after cycle 6.
bench seems to be the one lift that isn’t loving the 5/3/1 and I might need to add a second heavyish set after the money set before I do the BBB set.

Or boost the weight on the BBB by 10 lbs or so. I’m finding the BBB sets are what’s filling in the holes and building capacity for pushing greater weight on the money set. In fact, the money set for me is gravy. I’m really focusing on the BBB sets, making the reps crisp and perfect as possible along with waving them upwards through a cyle, then dropping back at the beginning of the next cycle.
Crazy deadlifting and rack pulls.
Oh - and since bench is coming after deads, it often suffers if you go all out on the deadlies. You may be getting to a point where you have to pick your battles rather than trying to rep out on all lifts.
Nice benches and pulls, Joe.
Holy freakin’ Rackpulls Batman! Nice work JG!! That’s huge.
Um, Joe? You got a PR on bench at 240 and you whine? Hey! You got a PR! Good work.
Thanks, Math just hanging in there.
Tony, I’m going to do just that.
Well in fairness SD, I’m having to pull from about an inch ABOVE the knee becasue of equipment issues so its really not that impressive.
Fair point, Kimba, I just don’t want ot have to reset my 5/3/1 cycles just yet but I guess I should just suck it up.

Pretty happy all things considered but absolutely ready for the deload week. its amazing what the power of food can do for you.
Awesome work - 5 months into the cycle and still hitting PR’s!
The power of food and good sleep is what it’s all about. Nice job on the BBB’s as well after those PR’s.
