You have some pretty strong opinions on the choices people make regarding their own lives huh?

Yeah its crazy how much they can go in a day - youth is indeed wasted on the young !

LOL. Yep. Clown’s been funny as hell to read. If only he had his own youtube channel and could share his wisdom with those sleeping 6 hours.

I think his post was reasonable. It seems he doesn’t have a problem with some other people’s habits as such but with people possibly misinforming others about them, such as saying that one can get by on less than the recommended sleep hours or that having poor nutrition is not something to be concerned with because god decides when we’re going to pass on regardless of nutrition habits. Such statements aren’t unusual. I think the line, "God decides regardless… " is sort of tacky because, well, god/Mother Nature/the Creator makes it so that one will pass precisely because of bad practices.

I know some people who can do alright with less than the recommended amount of sleep. For me, it comes down to the quality of sleep and I think even individual nights and days. There are times when I sleep eight or nine hours, likely because my body needed to, and other times I wake up hours before my scheduled alarm time and am so jumpy that I just hit the gym or do cardio. I actually love being in the gym or doing cardio between 5 or 6 AM, and I’ve done so even earlier. Once I had my son, going in the evening became a bad option for me.

Yeah I hear you Brick. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, he prob had good intentions w/ telling people to sleep more not less…esp telling a bunch of guys concerned with being stronger, looking better and getting results.

But ya know, the same know it all who says “4 hours sleep only and I’m a beast…or Fuck it dawg Let god choose…” is similar to the “You better sleep 8+ hrs or you’re gonna get dementia and die…” hahah

Yup. I didn’t see any folks here saying “6 hours of sleep is as good as 8 hours of sleep and there are no consequences”, but more just acknowledging that what they’re doing isn’t healthy but the tradeoff is worth it.

But I also saw a lot of rhetoric about how having kids is an excuse, and then no answer from the person saying that regarding if they themselves are a parent, so it’s all been very confusing…

Hey Brick, managed to miss your post here, my bad.

My response to him up there was pretty sarcastic, I don’t think it’s an unreasonable stance, but I do think it’s a bit silly to get so worked up over it.

Read a really good quote today (regarding arguing with engineers) that I think applies well to this topic

“Perspective, respect for others, and knowing that you don’t always know what’s right are some of the things that seem to hold them back.”

Definitely some food for thought.
