How much do you weigh, and why the belt on a weight that you can do 14 times?

Form looks good to me. I don’t really see any back rounding, and even if you round your back, it’s fine if it’s only upper back, but lower back has to be 100% tight. Some of the strongest strongmen round their upper backs during DL. LOL @ criticizing him for using belt just because of that one recent article. That’s just the opinion of one trainer, really nothing wrong with using a good PL belt for all your working sets for deadlifts and squats. Just don’t be one of these guys wearing a cheap belt their whole session only doing curls.

Also, touch and go reps really aren’t the devil. If you’re going such high reps, you might as well as touch and go, a full reset would take forever to get the set down and you’d rest so much in between each rep that you can’t even really call it a single set anymore. Personally I’d do touch and go any time I go over 3 reps, which is not that often.

Good lift bro. I agree with cct on all points. Your following 531 because you don’t want to get caught up in the nonsense and stupid rules people put on them selves when lifting. Atleast thats why I like 531. Move the weight up and down, and add resistance whenever possible, don’t overthink things bro. Remember when in doubt, just overhead squat, because that fixes everything lol.

Good luck with your deadlifts, my one rep max went from 157,5 to 175 kgs since January following this program. 531 worked really well for my deadlift.

awesome thanks for all the feedback guys. okay, so my current weight is 76kg/167.5lb and i wear my belt because i like it :slight_smile: haha, no in all seriousness, i dont use my belt for all sets leading up to the main working set, i then wear it for the main working set regardless of how many reps i can get because i want to be my strongest. i know its not part of 531, but i usually do a further 2 sets on the working set weight with no belt. one set will be all out (5+, 3+ etc) and the other 2 sets will be 5, 3, or singles, depending on what week it is. but yeah i try not to overthink things too much and i play around with what works best for me as opposed to what research suggests. and one last point, with lower reps/heavier weight i do reset at the bottom, heres a link of 2 reps at 180kg :slight_smile: thanks again guys, i really do appreciate the feedback.
