Unless you are talking to a Catholic, you are usually looking at some version of literal translation/sola scriptura.
Brother Chris wrote:

The majority of teachings about catholicism in general is nonsensical. What country the nonsense is taking place in is irrelevant.

Of course anyone with an ounce of intelligence in their heads agrees with that statement.Unfortunately you seem to have a disproportionately high number in the states that do not.Hence creationist museuems and textbooks in school.

Hmm, I wonder if you actually being taught correctly about Catholicism. Why I wanted you to say you were Irish Catholic, is because you seem to have a lack of knowledge of the Catholic Church.

I’m done with it too. The reason I care about this shit is because those that are NOT done with it, are blowing each other up and shooting each other, and I don’t want my world to be dragged into somebody else’s fight.
More vapid bullshit. No Jesus Camp folks are blowing up anything.

So in the words of Tracey Ullman…“Go home…go home.” You’re done here, V-man.
Who’s bullshitting who? This is from the main lady in the film.

“It’s no wonder, with that kind of intense training and discipling, that those young people are ready to kill themselves for the cause of Islam. I wanna see young people who are as committed to the cause of Jesus Christ as the young people are to the cause of Islam. I wanna see them as radically laying down their lives for the Gospel as they are over in Pakistan and Israel and Palestine and all those different places, you know, because we have… excuse me, but we have the truth!”

This link shows a group of christian evangelical terrorists who were charged with conspiring to kill police officers with IED explosives.

Check mate sir.

Those aren’t evangelicals, grasshopper.

On your very best day you’ve never come close to taking so much as one of my pawns much less putting me in check or checkmate, squirt.
Do you have proof of that? Not like it really matters anyway, some fundamentalist christians ARE indeed blowing shit up. Therefore, it appears you were mistaken sir.

I’m not saying that evangelicals or fundamentalist christians in America will likely resort to terrorism, there’s far too much prosperity in America for that to happen. However, as the quote makes it abundantly clear, It appears that radical/fundamentalist mentalities lead to clashes of beliefs and then possibly to violence or terrorism. Interestingly enough, with that information one can begin to think about why nearly all evangelicals don’t subscribe to terrorism and what is the true catalyst for terrorism in other parts of the world. Would you agree?

Your problem, TankFraud, is you spuriously added the word “evangelical” to your post when nowhere in that article is the term used nor should it be.

If you don’t even know what a word means don’t use it in your writings. For instance, I don’t know what the word “stromuhr” (winning word used in the Scripps national spelling bee) means and thus you won’t catch me using it as I expound on various and sundry topics in PWI. A man’s gotta know his limits…

This is one of many reasons why all my chess pieces are safe and sound when you are the one sitting on the other side of the board.
I apologize for using the term evangelical in that instance. In all honesty i meant to take it out but forgot. I do know what it means but that term may not apply to that specific group of people being charged for terrorism.

I’m posting this quote again because your ignoring the more important point which is that there isn’t a whole lot that separates fundamentalist christians like evangelicals from terrorists. Both are highly motivated, indoctrinated, and wholly believe they are right. However, it is clear that for the most part one group does not resort to violence while the other does. What other differences are there that could create such a hotbed of violence in the Middle East, but leave Middle America completely unscathed?

Anywho, that’s my question for you pusharoo. Give it some thought please, I think it’s important.

There is no logical reason for me to engage you when you type tripe like this. You have no idea how abjectly stupid you appear when you do this, do you?

All of your education, all your good grades in school, all the pats on the back from Mom, Dad, the neighbors and relatives amount to nothing more than a wisp of smoke on a windy day when you have brainwashed yourself into thinking the above.
It’s amazing how much you seem to delude yourself into thinking. You treat everyone like they are the joke, yet you have to do the most amazing mental gymnastics to live the life you live. The borderline sexism you show is also quite amusing.

I’ve had the teachings of the Catholic church forced down my throat all through my school life.If anything, being Irish Catholic would mean that I know a hell of a lot more about the catholic church, particularly the bad stuff.

Or are you saying I don’t know anything about the catholic church because I think what it preaches is nonsensical??

Amazing how much people who don’t believe the basic tenets of Christianity have to say about it.

It’s not like I was born a non believer. As I’ve gotten older I’ve learned to question the hypocrisy and inconsistencies in what it teaches.

“The rule is perfect: in all matters of opinion our adversaries are insane.â??Mark Twain”

Unlike in a game of chess push, I’m not your adversary. I’m just looking for certain answers and new thoughts and new questions to synthesize new ideas. Your goal might be the same if you weren’t foolishly transfixed on proving who’s right or wrong.

That said, you usually ignore my questions which tends to make discussions utterly useless. So, if the answer is so obvious as you have implied, can you answer what are the differences between a radical muslim and a radical evangelical? I’ll post this quote a third time which you have yet to address.

“It’s no wonder, with that kind of intense training and discipling, that those young people are ready to kill themselves for the cause of Islam. I wanna see young people who are as committed to the cause of Jesus Christ as the young people are to the cause of Islam. I wanna see them as radically laying down their lives for the Gospel as they are over in Pakistan and Israel and Palestine and all those different places, you know, because we have… excuse me, but we have the truth!” - the woman leader of jesus camp

As I understand it, you may be a fundamentalist christian yourself. If so, I would value your opinion above all others.

Not in Ireland,we’re not. I thought someone with the username IrishSteel would have some sort of idea of how things tend to work over here…

how does an infant believe/disbelieve anything? Exactly - soooo - by default a non-believer
