Jade Helm - US Military Operating Within the US

It seems like people want to generalize this as either

“Nothing to see here, move along, our government would never harm us you lunatic.”
or
“omfg, they’re taking over”

When the reality is that they’re training for a mass uprising and the instituting martial law. Which im allowed to be concerned with, and ask questions about.

It’s ironic how the lefties today who love government would be on the front lines of the hippie-counter culture movement 45 years ago.

How times have changed…

What if they’re training to invade another country and want to actually be ready to gain quick control over the populace this time around?

It’s not like they can do this kind of training anywhere else, after all.

Maybe the U.S. government is training for the epic show-down against not only ISIS, but also a potential war against Iran. And this time they want to be able to institute quick and dominant control so that they don’t have another big insurgency on their hands?

Other way around.

I think all of these foreign military actions against other pee-on countries is training our military for domestic insurgency in the US.

The people in Texas (you know, the ones who are designated on the JH15 map as “hostile”, the map the pentagon denied existed until infowars published it, yeah THAT map) are concerned enough about this that the governor is motivated to do something about it.

This article quotes Ted Cruz

?You know, I understand the concern that?s been raised by a lot of citizens about Jade Helm,? Cruz told Bloomberg on Saturday during the South Carolina Republican Party?s annual convention. ?It?s a question I?m getting a lot. And I think part of the reason is, we have seen for six years a federal government disrespecting the liberty of the citizens, and that produces fear. When you see a federal government that is attacking our free speech rights, our religious liberty rights, our Second Amendment rights, that produces distrust as to government.?

One of the commentors of the article was called “paranoid”, to which he replied:

…you think the Jews could have used some useful paranoia in WWII? How about the nearly 2 million Cambodians wiped out by Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge in the 70’s because of differing ideologies? Rawanda? Srebenica? How about any of the other racial, ethnic or national “cleansings” that have taken place in the course of history?

What do you think? Do you think the tens of millions that have died at the hands of ruthless, corrupt governments should have popped a few paranoia pills?

Please, enlighten all of us kooks here exactly why the government of the United States of America is so kind, good, benevolent and transparent COUGH, COUGH that they would NEVER be able to do to it’s citizens that which other governments have done…

As a student of history and having a breadth of knowledge of many different cultures, languages and countries, why on earth would you consider that question rhetorical or sarcastic?

The trend is toward socialism and the slippery slope that leads toward totalitarianism and fascism. The trend is toward LESS freedom and MORE spying and lying. The police are more like the Gestapo and less like public servants. The Executive branch is shredding the Constitution. The Legislative branch is beholden to special interest groups and paralyzed along partisan lines (at least that’s what they say publicly). The Judicial branch is legitimizing radical interpretations and rewriting the Law of the Land. There is an entirely unregulated “fourth” branch of government, the “bureaucratic branch” that makes shit up as they go along (against the will of the people, but it’s “for our own good”) and fines the citizens of our country with little or no recourse. The MEDIA is lying and covering up scandals for the government - it is no longer independent. Our military is underfunded and over extended. Our foreign policy is a fucking JOKE. Our currency is being deflated on a daily basis by the FED actively printing money and manipulating the bond market (as we complain that China manipulates their currency). We have 50 MILLION people on food stamps and other “public assistance”. Racial unrest and minority pandering is winning over common sense - people are outright LYING and no one is calling them on it for fear of the MEDIA labeling them as a racist/sexist/homophobe/<> (all driven by minority special interest groups). Our debt and deficit are insanely out of control and unsustainable. The Patriot act and subsequent “secret” programs and legislation make 1984 look like a picnic… I could keep going and going.

And given those above trends, and what you know about history and human nature, you think everything is just “fine”? Nothing to worry about? We have more “unaddressed issues” than Germany did circa 1933…

No, I agree with all of what you wrote.

Still, “Please, enlighten all of us kooks here exactly why the government of the United States of America is so kind, good, benevolent and transparent COUGH, COUGH that they would NEVER be able to do to it’s citizens that which other governments have done” is sarcastic in tone and rhetorical in nature. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I pose sarcastic, rhetorical questions all the time.

You clearly don’t consider yourself (or me, or Push, as we share your position) to be “kooks”, nor do you really expect a serious explanation from anyone about the kindness, goodness, benevolence, or transparency of the United States government, which would prevent it from doing to its citizens what all over-powerful regimes have done since the Babylonian Empire. Sarcastic and rhetorical.

My response was in that spirit. I don’t actually think that American exceptionalism, the Constitution, or any pretense of “freedom” would hinder the government from doing whatever they want to whomever they want.

I mean, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, isn’t it? If I thought everything is fine in America, with nothing to worry about, would I have emigrated…twice?

Gotcha - I misunderstood (I should post less when I drink! LOL)

I’m going to go out on a limb and say the opposite is true.

More drinks, more posts!
