I think Ray could pull it off also, I just watched Monday Kill the Irishman. I think the guy has acting range that was not shown in Punisher.
I’d prefer him.
Why don’t we just get Justin Timberlake, Ashton Kutcher, or Dr. Evil’s kid?

For those of you who are Jack Reacher fans, I bring you sad, sad news…Tom Cruise has been cast as Jack Reacher in the film adaptation of One Shot.
I have no words to describe my dismay at this stupidity.
Un-fucking-believable.
Seriously. You have to be effing kidding me!
Yep and next they are going to redo The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, staring Tom Hanks as the steely eyed curly haired goof Angel Eyes, Seth Rogan as The Bad, and the Ugly Cameron Diaz cause you have to have a female lead in a Hollywood movie.
Tom you missed my quote from yesterday thought I would repost.

I didn’t think Tom Cruise would work as 6’4" 250lb ex-MP Jack (No Middle Name) Reacher, but I’m man enough to know know when I;m wrong…and sir I am indeed wrong.

Yea Nards, it looks like Cruise is a good few hundred pounds away from the condom stuffed with almonds look.
Ha! You remember that line too huh? Great one.
It’s not just that he’s not the right size…as most people that see the movie have never read the books…but the thing is it’s not 1992 anymore…Tom Cruise is not that important to have in your movie. You don’t get Tom Cruise “no matter what” Hell, these days he may even be a liability.
And of course if you’ve read the books I’d safely say there couldn’t be more than 5 Reacher fans that would think Cruise was a good idea…so yeah, pretty much every reader thinks it’s a bad decision.
They could’ve gone with someone thicker ( I don’t think they actually need a 6’4" actor as you can easily make 6’ look tall on film) and moderately well known.
I think I am going to cry. FUCK
I really don’t think I’ll even see this in the theater.
Not out of any “Boycott this heresy!” type thing but I just simply won’t see a Tom Cruise thriller like this.
I mean imagine if we’d never read the books…and some Tom Cruise movie about him trying to stop a sniper in a small town…would you see that anyway?

No while I did enjoy the MI movies strangely I have not seen him in another action series that I enjoyed.

Yeah, but Tom Cruise is not what made any of those movies watchable. I only liked the third one anyway.
True supporting cast and writing was fun.
Now back to why and the fuck is crazywood destroying a potential multi movie blockbuster series? This will flop.
They will reboot in 3-5 years.
Casting Cruise as Reacher brings with it the same problems as Jackman playing Wolverine.
If its successful, the public will begin to see him as the character.
I like Jackman, but the public has come to see Logan as a tall, leading man-type. Studios won’t reboot now that “Jackman Wolverine” has become so deeply ingrained in the public’s imagination (that’s why I rag on movie Wolverine so much: we’ve got little chance of getting a true Wolverine movie now - the public simply won’t accept it after being spoiled with a tamer version) .
I fear the same thing could happen to the Reacher books. Also, Cruise is generally the type of actor who has scripts tailored to his personality, which is bad news for those expecting a faithful adap.
