It's true homies, eagles don't roam in flocks

Pete,

Still a ton of conditioning and those dead stop benches are fantastic, how far off your chest do you start those? Your log always makes me feel lazy and fat (although mirrors remind me of that as well), I hope that your motivation rubs off on me but I fear I have been immunized against it.

I have the dead stops about a 1/2 board off the chest.

Well, you do a ton of volume, and are strong as hell. Amazingly I am not skinny with all the conditioning, but my BP numbers are down near where I want them, and my jeans fit looser, so I will take that until I can manage my diet a little better. I will try like hell to eat the right way, but when I have corn dogs, mac and cheese, etc beckoning me in the middle of the night, well a guy can only have so much will power.

today

roll and stretch

deficit dls 155 x 5, 345/425/515/605/635 x 2, new PR, sucked

snatch grip dls 245 x 5, then some x some with 345. never done these before, but they seem to be all the rage for DL assistance with the in crowd. I can say I was humbled and felt sucky doing them, so will keep them in the rotation

shrugs w/cambered bench bar, 315, 405 x 10, 3 x 10 w/495

leg press w/conventional dl stance 6 or 7 sets, working up to top set of 24 plates x 10. what sucks is having to unload this

ghr 4 x 8
decline sits 4 x 8

then went home and spent 2 hours doing snow removal. managed to get my Charger stuck in between my house and my neighbors drive way, extra half hour getting that fucker back in the driveway. yeah rearwheel drive in winter

How cold is it up there? I can’t imagine living in that environment. Do you have snow and cold 9 months out of the year? You get a work out just loading and unloading the leg press.

A friend of mine is doing Lilly’s Cube. Snatch grip DL is something he’s working on too.

Just gotta make it to the Ides of March. Less winter is on its way.

May be heading up to Relentless again this year.

hope to see you up hear again man

yesterday took my first intentional day off in forever. woke up feeling beat to shit, worked from home, and didn’t do anything physical aside from some more snow removal

at 4 a.m. wife woke up puking, having 6 year old’s flu from last week; please note this is one week after her getting over pneumonia

so, stay at home dad today, took 6 year old to kindergarten, met his gym teacher for the first time, who made the comment ‘your that huge dude from the gym’, guess he goes to commercial gym

juggled bus stop duty, toddler duty, and conference calls through out the day, then spent 1.5 hours packing kids into car (I am not exaggerating) and headed to commercial gym for upper work

DE bench, incline bench, straight weight, close grip w/u’s then 8 x 3 @ 175
hammer strength high rows 8 x 8-10

machine chest press 5 x 8-10

rear delt machine 5 x 8-10

tricep dip machine 5 x 10 w/full stack, some kinda post injury pr

laterals 30s/35s/40s/45s/50s x 10, w/ about 20 sec rest working up

up rows 3 x 12-15

standing db alt curls 5 x 12-15
pressdowns 5 x 12-15

great pump, feeling achy but getting stronger. planning on experimenting with varying DE work a bit, think it will mean less direct wear and tear and develop my strength more thoroughly as I build my press back up

yesterday condo work

sauna, roll, stretch = 1/2 hour

prowler 90lb x 40yrd x 12

backward sled drag 160lb x 80yrd x 2

stepmill 20 min

treadmill steep incline 15 min

I can see you’re as strong as ever. Looking forward to following your training again. Steve

DE pulls 4 x 1 @ 325, 4 x 1 # 415

rev hypers 4 x 10
hlr 4 x 8

then off home, tired

Thanks Steve. As of right now everyone in the house has been sick, in fact my American Bulldog just puked on the living room floor. Sadly the St. Bernard had to go to doggy heaven last month, but she had a good 11 years of living. See next log entry for more updates:(

Last few days:

Thursday night didn’t sleep for shit. Combination of stress + pre workout caffeine had me up at 2 a.m. still working on a project plan.

After work went in for some quick conditioning:

prowler 50lb x 40yrd x 20 sprints

abs some x some

Then I went home looking forward to a nice weekend without any one sick.

Got into some comfortable clothes, had a nice bourbon on the rocks in my hand, wife was cooking lobster tail and filet, and then it hit me: the smells, they were getting to me, and fast. I bolted for the bathroom and then it began. All through the night every hour or so up and into the bathroom.

I tried immediately to start holding anything in. I ate popsicles by the fist full, as they were soothing. Then around 7 a.m. got some powerade down, and water through out. Around ten a.m. some toast, around 1 some ramen, etc. Fortunately at this point all this stuff was all in stock in the house.

Slept off and on until 4 p.m. Got up still feeling crappy but could eat, and a fart was just a fart.

Today got up and went into do some light training. Went to Los Campeones, mainly because my 6 year old wanted to go there. Not that I was going to put anything up heavy today, just some full body stuff to loosen up.

SSB box squat 80, 170, 260, 350 x 6

close grip bench 135/185/225 x 8

bent rows 225/225/315 x 10

ghr 3 x 8

hammer strength preacher curl 3 x 10

face pulls 3 x 15

Then I took kid out for pizza. Weekend wasn’t a total loss.

Sorry to see all the sickness, hope everyone feels better. Looks like things turned okay considering what you all have been going through.

^^This was classic.

You got skillz, not just at lifting.

11 years for a St. Bernard is amazing, must’ve really liked her life.

thanks mang

Monday ended up being flu regression day, fml

yesterday work stress blah blah blah 4 p.m. meeting went til almost six, then of to Los for upper assistance

football bar bench 135 x 10, 225 x 10, 225 + 60lb chains x 3, 225 + 110 lb chains x 3, 225 + 160lb chains x 3 (barely), 225 x 110lb x 3 x 3, 225 x 20

385 x 3 at top probably the most in my hands since injury, felt great, just need to get stronger

hammer incline 5 x 8-10 (20lb more than last time)
hammer pulldown 5 x 8-10

pressdown/face pull/lateral 3 x 15-20 each

that was it, got started late and needed to get home to take care of my American Bulldog. he started puking Sunday and hadn’t eaten/dranken in 48 hours. I got home and he perked up, drank some water, made him fresh cooked ground beef and rice, which he devoured, then he tore through the garbage in the middle of the night and left it all over the kitchen, so he is basically back to normal.

starting to figure out my meet plans for the year, looking forward to getting stronger and moving some more weight soon

after work

stretch, roll

prowler 70lb x 40yrd x 12

treadmill steep incline 20 min

stepmill 20 min

then some abs and bicep work because I didn’t have time yesterday
