Those are great SSB raw box squats. Can’t wait to go to my daughters first kindergarten class but I still have about 3 years to go. Just agonizing over which daycare to go to is mind racking considering safety as well as environment.
things really feeling better
today
a.m. 25 elliptical
p.m. back
bent rows 135 x 15, 225 x 10, 275 x 10, 315 x 10, 345 x 9, 365 x 6 (last two recent PRs)
rev grip pulldowns 4 x 8-10, last set with 265, about 30lbs over what I have handled recently
hammer strength pulldsons 3 x 15
hammer strength high rows 3 x 10
bent laterals 3 x 10 w/60s
ss/w
dbell shrugs 3 x 20 w/125s (heaviest at gym by my house)
then finished up full bodybuilder mode with some calves and abs
day 9 of no carbs, but strength is coming up, and a bit leaner, and less bloat. refeed tomorrow, then back at it. sad as it may be I am just one of those people that does better minimizing the carbs. also starting to feel resigned/accepting to the fact that I just need to focus on building muscle/being healthy for awhile. single rep PRs are still in the future, just need to give the joints and tendons time to heal

thanks man. hoping to have great carryover when I return to more normal straight bar squatting. upper back, quads, and glutes felt it for sure.
yeah, mine are 2 and 6 (and I have a 22 year old), the 6 year old did the daycare route until I got laid off in end of 09 with severance. wife was prego with the littlest one. right at the last minute before she had to go back to work, I handed a gig paying roughly double what I had made before, so wife and littlest one have escaped daycare trama, for now. happy about that, but she is going to be reentering the workforce sometime soon, so going to have to start interrogating daycare providers again.
Strong work, Pete, as always. I doubt cutting out carbs for a month or two will make you any weaker but it will for sure make you leaner.
lightish upper stuff
rotator work, shoulder stretching, etc
cable flys from bottom 6 x 15
smith incline 5 x 15
front raise 30s/35s/40s/45s/50s x 8

arnold press 5 x 10-15
pressdown 5 x 12-15
machine dip 5 x 10-15
kick backs 4 x 10
stand alt curls 5 x 12-20 reps
really just a day to move some blood around and work on mobility, maybe a bit of hypertrophy. achey from last two days of heavy training. finished up and went and started a refeed of Italian beefs, fries, coke, chicago dog. Pot pie coming up, then back to diet tomorrow.
Are you making sure to take calcium or tums to supplement since you’re doing no carbs. I remember doing Atkins and the added calcium helped.
semi aimless bb training today for lower. need a break from just holding a bar for a bit, this stuff will probably continue for a few months. little bit of hypertrophy won’t be a bad thing either
standing calves 7 sets, worked up to heavy sets of 10 then a ‘heavy’ set of 30
standing leg curl 4 x 15
lying leg curl 4 x 10
leg extension 4 x 10, really shows a weakness here
leg press against choked green bands 5 x 20, 10 wide, 10 narrow, top set with 9 plates per side plus bands. I think the way I had the bands they added 200fuktons of weight
hack squat on pin selector thingy 4 x 8-12
abs 4 x 12
only thing this session was missing was a fanny pack full of dbol, zubazz, and fingerless lifting gloves
all of this is pretty impressive

machine incline warm ups then 2 drop sets
laterals 5 x 10-15
cable front raise with rope 4 x 12
rope downs 5-6 x some, first time really able to do these
progress, slowly. elbow and tricep feeling a bit more stable again

seated alt curls 4 x 8-10
preacher curl 4 x 10
all this fucking around I am generating some great ideas for my next real training cycle; of course, many of these ideas I am appropriating from somewhere, but testing on myself
a.m. 30 min elliptical
p.m.
Speed squat day/week
ssb box squats warm ups then 405 + green bands, 8 x 2 w/30 seconds rest
ghr 4 x 8
hlr 4 x 8
rev hyper 4 x 8
been a bit since any band tension, those 8 sets were pleasantly brutal
Why waste time testing on yourself, when you can just ask an expert on the internet?
