I remember those bruises, those were the days… shit those ‘days’ were like 4 months ago, haha. I’ve learned technique better significantly lately so the bar hits my hips (sn.)/upper thighs (cl.), but not to the point that it bruises anymore. I’ve found a good balance.
Your cleans are looking fucking sweet. The only two things I want to say are: stay on your heels longer during the 2nd pull, and FAST ELBOWS! Swing those suckers around.
On the jerk, it’s looking much better. You are pressing it less, and your split is much better. One thing: stay on the heels longer.

Your lifts are coming along perfectly! Its so impressive. I don’t really have any critique other than don’t chicken shit on stuff, especially since you can just drop the bar, woman! A 130 clean is good shit!
And yeah, the bruises are crazy. On the hips, thighs, shoulders…ugh! My guy is always bitching about how much damage i’m doing to myself and its hard to explain that they’re no big deal. Oh well.
I haven’t really noticed any body-comp changes myself, but I’m terrible at objectively looking at my body. I will say though, that Pendlay article from a while back did mention that Oly is a sure fire way to put on mass. For good and bad, I guess. Altho the woman that does Oly at my gym doesn’t look particularly buff, and neither do the men tbh. Either way, you look simply gorgeous! And i’m glad that Oly has given you a improved mood! So many wins!!

Andy, only four months ago eh? That gives me hope. Fucking sweet! That’s what I want to hear! :)))) Elbows and heels…I’ll work on that. Koing told me the same thing about the heels the last videos I posted. I’m finding it to be pretty tricky to correct myself during the jerk because it’s so quick, and I’m aiming to dip and drive quicker too. Finishing the snatch is also like that for me.

The bruises aren’t as bad as the sore pubic bone! Everytime I lean against the countertop it’s YOW. I’ve cut way back on running so that is helping to pack on the pounds I think. Thank you so much ![]()

I had some bad ones on my shoulders and collarbones recently too that I’ve had to explain to people–and the taped up hands die to torn calluses. Not as bad as the bruises I’ve had in the past on my wrists from dbs that look like they’re from handcuffs lol

The jerks are feeling a lot less goofy and more snappy. I just need to keep at them I think.
My traps are growing too I think. I remember it used to hurt putting the weight on my shoulders/non-existant traps for back squats. Now they’re like little pillows for the bar ![]()

Deb, it’s alright to dip fast on the jerk, but when doing so, make sure that the bar stays in contact with your body in the rack position. A lot of people (used to do this myself) will dip fast, but the bar will become separated from the body.
