Very cool! Are your bumper plates all one color? My gym’s are different colors for different weights. It’s like having Skittle bag to pick your weight from: Hmmm…do I feel like lemon or lime today? Am I up to the strawberry plates yet?
Olympic lifts! Nice vids Debra although I only needed to see the pic to get the song in my head, and then this this song jumped into my head.
For the none Canadians and none Britons? this is the music for God Save the Queen.lol

Someone once told me if you ain’t failing once in a while you’re not pushing hard enough.[/quote]
I used to be afraid to fail but failing more often I think has helped me quite a bit. Not as good as a spotter however.
Thanks Brute, Nikki and ThePerfectDrug(I still wanna call you your old handle!)
Hey Rocky
lol

Yeah unfortunately they’re all black. But they’re all I can get around here. I like the coloured ones too ![]()
Hehe CharlieHorse, Ren and Stimpy ftw!
Yesterday I had an unplanned rest day because of a work emergency that kept me at work until 11:30 last night. Hate that! That’s why I don’t plan my rest days, they have a way of happening on their own. I ran in the morning though.
I’m pretty tired today
I’ll get a good session in today, hopefully.
I’m trying to get caught up in emails and stuff and my spelling/typing is crap and my mental abilities are diminished it seems. I guess yesterday’s marathon of hard thinking has taken a toll. I hope my mind sharpens a bit by the time I get home so I can do some decent lifting. Or I guess it’ll be just squats. Moar coffee!
Well, you got the J-hook at the top, so it all works out. I’ll bet when the weight gets heavier that s will creep in.
That was COOL!!

J-hook is a new term for me. Is this what you mean?
Interesting! I suppose if it doesn’t as I get heavier the weight will probably just wind up back on the floor.

Just so.
Yup. That’s what happened to me - the J goes away and you start overbalancing forward. I had to get a coach to fix me. ![]()
i think if you pull it back into you more from the floor (so it treks back towards you) then it sets things up for a nice big hip drive. trouble (for me anyway) is that i can powerclean more than i can full clean so to practice getting under the bar i (think i) need to not pull it properly otherwise there isn’t any point in getting under it.

You’re totally right about that. I think I need to do some hang cleans to get that going properly. I’m still pulling from the floor too fast I think.

I think I’ll need the same. Coaching is hard to come by but I’m going to have to get some!
Friday’s workout
I ended up having a decent workout after all but I didn’t get going until after 9pm. Snatches started out really well but then went to hell! I did get some good ones in so that’s all that matters. I did a bunch of jerks that while sloppy still were half-decent and I got in some squats too. All in all pretty good considering how I was feeling this afternoon!
All of my lifts need me to get more aggressive though.
It doesn’t seem to matter too much how well I do, I usually feel like I’ve done good doing these workouts. I was on the verge of some depression just before I started this and it’s really turned my head around
In short, I’m really enjoying this even if I’m a tad obsessive about it.
