The day after a rest day always seems to be the toughest. Stomach was a bit off and I probably didn’t eat enough today so I skipped cleans and just did my squats since they require no brain.
aw. never thought i’d say ‘i wish i didn’t have a mac’ and i don’t really… but damn, i wish they made a mac version of that software. how do you like it? think it will be useful? i’m trying to develop an eye for it - and can drag things at a very slow pace with i-movie - but the squiggly blue line is kinda cool.

soooooo jealous of your squats!
It’s kind of neat but I can’t see myself using it after the novelty wears off. Seeing the path is interesting but unless it’s really obvious, problems with the line are probably not going to be evident to my eye.
Very neat stuff on the bar path, i have used something similiar for squats and deads, really can tell you a ton especially when you get a file of good lifts going and then when lifts seem to be struggling you can look back and compare, awesome.
Great squatting, i know you are probably pissed missing last one but great set.
You really do have excellent mobility. You seem to have a good amount of dorsiflexion (something I lack, which is why I simply cannot do one legged squats). Nice work on the lifts.
Germanone, I was okay with that. I was going to quit after my jerks were lame and decided to do a set of squats anyhow and ended up with a proper workout after all
Thanks Nikki! Yeah it’s nice to have the privacy, except then I record it and post it on the interwebs…lol
Cal, I just found out what that meant I’m not sure what I’ve done to earn it however.
ah. well… there is info on the ideal bar trajectory and what kinds of things result in various kinds of deviation from the ideal bar trajectory. you can get software that does a whole heap besides… maximum height of the bar, bar velocity throughout the lift and other stuff… i don’t really know what to do with that kind of info, but have found some stuff on that. guess it is an objective measure of progress aside from weight lifted.

yay for bumpers. looking forward to the pics :-)
When I get a chance I’ll put the path on the cleans I did tonight. I have a feeling I’m not getting a proper sweep and it’ll show if I do it.
yup. i think that when you tweak technique often you can’t lift what you could if you just did it without thinking. but then you can look to see whether the trajectory looks better or not. if it doesn’t then scrap that. if it does look better then it might be a matter of persisting and eventually it will be stronger. at least… i’m hoping that that is what i’ll be able to figure with the trajectory info.
can do it by dragging things slowly through i-movie - but the pretty line makes it much easier. that being said, not sure how many people over on the oly forum make use of this kind of thing… might be a way of developing an eye. a lot of the time with Oly lifting i’m not quite sure what it is that i’m supposed to be doing… seeing the ideal trajectory really helped me understand what i’m aiming to do, though.
