I did a REALLY quick snatch workout because I have to clean my entire house for guests tomorrow so I did this session in 23 frickin minutes and it went really well! I don’t understand but I got my 100lb snatch so whatev!! (Yay!) I tried 105lbs but damn pubic bone got damaged again grrr.

Still, thrilled!

So I’ll post a video and clean my house for 20 mins and do an express clean & jerk workout next.

i have this list of things i need to work on… but in each training session i try and focus on one or at most two things because that is the most my tiny brain can hold before making a lift or else it gets jammed and my body can’t lift anything at all :-/ i do find it frustrating that sometimes working on fixing up one thing results in other things getting worse… but i figure there is a benefit to getting part of it right and hopefully repeated enough to be fairly automatic before worrying about other things… dunno, though. can certainly be frustrating at times.

oh yeah. and sometimes it is just fun to do it without thinking at all!!!

Thanks Alexus! Yeah that sounds like the way to do it. I’m not sure what to prioritize on the jerks. I think I probably need lots and lots of reps for practice. I do a bunch of foot drills before each lift trying to get that right but it doesn’t seem to take during the lift lol. I’m sure it will eventually :smiley:

Yay got my 140lb clean. I missed on the jerk but I’m not surprised because I decided before the clean I wasn’t going to attempt the jerk but then as I was standing there I thought WTH but it was half assed :o)

Now I have to finish cleaning my house ugh. Happy about 2 PRs though =D

hehe I’ve been redoing those lifts in my head every ten minutes since Thursday night! I have a house full of visitors and I can’t workout again until tomorrow and it’s making me crazy after those PRs.

haha not ridiculous. i need to sneak to the gym a bit, too, when i’m supposed to be doing other shit. thing is, i need to go to the gym to remain sane enough to get other shit done.

Hehe Alexus I snuck out. Lifting at the gym was weird though. I’m not used to lifting in public D:

I did a super quick workout last night I didn’t log. Just a bunch of snatches to 85lbs and a bunch of cleans.

I don’t know how the athletic complex here could be such an awesome place and suck SO BADLY for oly at the same time. It’s such a beautiful facility and from the platforms that are all on the second floor there is a massive window with views of mountains in the background, a soccer field that had a game going on, a track with sprinters sprinting and a bunch of pole vaulters practicing. There is facilities for throwers, shot put, discus etc and excellent coaching for track and field, a full gym for gymnastics with foam pits, an indoor track and volleyball and basketball courts BUT !!! I cannot drop my weights on the beautiful, glossy, hardwood and rubber platforms!!! GRRRRR What kind of bullshit is that???

Gah! So I couldn’t drop/miss any of my reps and I was self-conscious lol how silly.

The bumpers are in kg so I ended lifting more than I thought. I was snatching 45kg singles thinking it was 90-95lbs but it was actually 100 lbs. And I did a few clean & jerks at 60kg thinking that was 120-125lbs. Dummy! Oh well. There is no way I would have done 3 singles at 100lbs knowing that’s what it was! Plus I was afraid to miss and get in trouble :o And I had to do it in an hour because that’s all I could get away with sneaking away for.

So here’s what I think I did from memory:

Why would the gym have oly platforms if not so you can drop the weights? I thought that’s why they would have the platform in the first place.

yeah, that is really odd. apparently there are ways of designing them to minimize noise, too. that is the strangest policy i’ve ever heard…

I might talk to some of the staff for some clarification. There are signs stating no dropping of weights but I want to argue that. I think there are some coaches there that might back me up. But then again I don’t go there too often.

This morning I did some hill sprints and did a short workout this afternoon but I was so tired that I was missing too much that I called it a day. I’m finding I can really get fast and powerful sprinting these days but it kills my afternoon workout. I might have to look to something else for conditioning.

But I did a couple of triples at 85 lbs that I normally would have missed because I didn’t as high as usual but I managed to get under the bar still so I think I’m seeing some progress there. I was told to do a lot of triples to tire myself out a bit to force myself out of being able to powersnatch my way under the bar and I can see that now lol. I was just a bit too tired today.

In other news in a couple of days I turn 39, the age my brother was when he had a heart attack…yikes…=:o(

I have a totally different lifestyle than him but I still worry that all of that might not matter. Good conditioning gives me some peace of mind tho!
