Veggie, I’m terrible at foam rolling but I’ve been using a broomstick on my quads. I’m thinking of booking a massage soon. The guy I go to really works me hard, which I really like, but I get DOMS from it and can’t lift the next day. But it is sooooo good.

I hate foam rolling as well, but the benefits are so worth it! I try to listen to music or watch a show on netflix and not get off until the CD/show ends. Sometimes I get so distracted I forget that I am doing it.
i think it is hard… because on the one hand people (especially me heh) are all about ‘take the weight off the bar and work your form!’ and then all of a sudden people are like ‘put some weight on the bar and find some balls!’ so hard to know which strategy is appropriate, when. but you have been working your form really hard and things are looking pretty good. and we already know you got balls so you don’t have anything to prove with that.
i’m sorry to hear about your shoulder. they really are dicky little things. do take some time to rest up. live to train another day etc. the snatches and cleans won’t go anywhere. they will be there when you are ready.
Thanks all for the well wishes My shoulder is still a little annoyed but much better. I didn`t do any cleans tonight and just snatched as long as it felt okay.
Pretty crappy workout though Had the worst day ever Really crappy personal situation (long story but it`s a return of the thing that some of you know about) in a rage all day and I thought that I might be able lift harder in my anger but it ends up it only made me tired Now my satellite tv is broken and PLAYOFFS START TOMORROW RAGE and I’m having plumbing issues. BAH. I gotta call the bf and tell him about the issues but I don’t want to pass along the rage. My buddy who is a voice of reason is out of town for a few days too. Apparently I workout better when I’m having better days.

They were just so-so. Not my night I don’t think.

I did give it a go and it helped. I just suck at making myself do it!
oh no Deb! …I’m so sorry…if its the thing form before…I might know the deal…:{
Personal situations really drain my training abilities–just take awya my soul to lift.
I’m so sorry not only for whatever’s going down, but also that you can’t release stress/rage/vengence from it by amazing lifts (which you do every day!!) BUMMER! and LAME! Freaking cheap shot :{
i think anger helps squats and deads more than snatches. though sometimes i can focus my anger on the bar and othertimes the anger is a distraction. so glad to hear that your shoulder is feeling good. good on you for being careful with it anyway. hopefully it will be 110% real soon. Sorry to hear that you had a crappy day. hang in there.
Unfortunately, in my brief experience, when other things are on your mind it IS difficult to practice the Olympic lifts. But squats are great for channeling bad energy. That or running hill sprints!
Not sure if this will help in any substantial way - maybe it’s good for a brief smile.

Thanks Brute and Alexus I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night and I was still fuming this morning but I read Alexus’ post and did some squats this morning and that really cheered me up. I did 3 sets 135x20 impulsively before getting ready to go to work. Going to make me late though! Thanks for the suggestion Alexus!!!
On another positive note I could really tell how much stronger I’m getting doing those. We’ll see how it feels later with little sleep and not enough calories yesterday…

Hey NewWorldMan! Thanks so much and you’re exactly right!! :o)
Well things got worse this morning. Now I’m stuck at back at home and can’t go for a run. My shoulder probably won’t like it if I workout and I already squatted this morning. I might try to workout anyhow. serenity now!
hmm… easing off the shoulder… you got a bag or something you can kick? sprints? box jumps? planks (heh heh). sorry to hear things still aren’t going so well for you.
damn you for your squats. you could give me some of that strength… just 30kg or so to help me out???
