It's in the Way You Move

HARA-thanks, man!

Frozenkilt-I’ve been using the same pull up guy as brute (on da sly). He’s had me on a progression like you described. They just weren’t quite there yesterday, I’ll get em. Thanks for the advice.

Spock-You’re the sexiest trekky I ever saw. And that ain’t no lie.

James-Definitely suspect :frowning: I’ll be revisiting this, for sure. Why no pull ups?

Matty-Honestly, I was feeling down about missing this yesterday and your words helped a bunch. Thank you >big squeeze<

Coyote-Thanks hotstuffs.

Brute-I summoned your front squat power today, thanks for that!

SCJ-Here’s another urban dictionary term for ya: Spacedock. Report back with a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ (sayyessayyessayyes)

Koub-No contest, Nadia is the queen.

Herc-HA! You read my mind…I tried to console myself that they weren’t full on cross fit pull ups. alas, they are close. GAH.

Print-Thanks doggio. And I’ll have you know, I have to consult google for a lot of your posts. Must be quite the vocabulary lessons they give in Poland.

Up-Smack away!

Edgy-Nice…sword.

Wiggles-Well, I think I saw in your log you weigh 220. Have me strap on 85 pounds and then we’ll talk.

Squattin:

Defranco’s 8

Squat:
Barx5
65x5
95x5
135x3
**SS Box Jumps

145x5
165x5
185x5

Front Squats 135#:
10x5
Yes, 10 sets of 5. Taking the boring part of the BBB to the extreme. Oh.my.word. these were tough. But I did NOT tip forward, fought for every rep, and thought of Brute’s invisible hands cupping my butt in the hole.

Tire Flipping:
Well fuck me sideways, that tire is HEAVY. I got 5 flips (barely!), and about 100 half flips in the process. This was ridiculous.

Now to focus on midterms and filling out brackets. I’ll catch up with ya’ll soon as I get some knowledge into this head of mine.

hehe. Training with you would be a blast. How big was it? Good luck on those midterms there missy.

:D!!!

:D!!!

I did the tire flips a few times at my friends gym…I have a tape of it in one of my old logs…fucking sucking wind like you wouldnt believe, but awesome in the same breath

Those are really solid squats. I like lower rep front squat sets too as I find I lose form when I go heavier.

I don’t do pull ups because I tend to go overboard and that gives me tendonitis.

james

Fucking you sideways would be prodigious.

Your Pullups/Sq are a lavishly produced performance.

thanks for noticing, I get excited when I’m in this log~

I’m gonna trust you and say yes without even looking it up first.

(looks it up)

I think I need some booze.

^ srsly - how can that even be up for discussion?

wow, just wow~

In the words of Sheen, WINNING!!! Though, he’s probably done the gay version a couple of times for some grams…

From my log

I train both sumo and conventional, because depending on whether I am lifting with gear or raw changes what I use. When I am wearing gear, I pull sumo. When I pull raw, I pull conventional.

Since conventional hits your lower back and hamstrings harder, and sumo hits your hips harder, no reason to not do both.

excellent pullups-

sadly I tend to go a little crazy with them and elbows tell me no mas

and those are excellent SSB’s damn.
I have only used them once- and it was awesome.
also backing that up with 10x5 front squats more awesomness.

I have found 5 or 6 is the most I can rep on FS.

really solid work

Don’t they say different builds are better suited to one type over the other? Which type of deadlifting is best for short people with long arms? Lol

Woot tire flipping! That’s a damn fine workout  How are you liking the Agile 8 warmup? Have you found that it helps at all?

I have a short torso, long legs and long arms.

I am not really built for benching, or anything else for that matter in relation to power, but I do sumo DL due to my mechanics.

fwiw~

koub-HA! It was a joke, that tire. For some reason I had visions of myself flipping that summonabitch up and down the alley like nothing so I was just livid when I could hardly get it off the ground. There was this cute couple outside eating dinner when I was out there and the little old lady came up to me, gave me some props, then asked if I should maybe have a spotter. I just dropped my head and was like, yea…maybe. womp womp

brute-no YOU :D!!

Matty-No joke, I totally counted it as cardio! A matty tire flipping video? Imma going hunting!

James-I’m finding I enjoy the lower reps, which is a little shocking since I used to be a little rep queen. Sorry about the tendonitis :frowning:

Print-What about upside down?

Edgy-'sok, it happens. Just careful waving it around. I hear dem swords break, and nobody wants a mopey viking.

SCJ-“beer, now there’s a temporary solution.” -homer simpson

Dixie-Thank you!!

Kev-I actually thought about you when I was doing the front squats. How you handle as much weight as you do is just ridiculous to me. I’m also glad to hear about the lower reps. I can’t quite decide if I’m just being lazy or trying to maintain form. I’m voting for option B.

Spock-Yea, there’s links in my old log I’ll try to dig up.

Pixie-I probably do a bastardized version of it, but yes! I am a big big fan. I train with a guy who’s in his 50s and he NEVER warms up. Boggles my mind, but works for him

And some bench:

Warm up stuff

Bench:
Barx5
65x5
75x3
**SS explosive push ups

90x5
105x5
120x10

Accessory:
Dips
DB Bench (a’la McGill. The man’s an expert in the spine. I totally buy anything he’s selling)
Curls
Tricep rolls

25 min high incline treadmill

*Still sore from Tuesday but felt pretty strong today. RAWR.

Random mini-rant: Any time someone drops the term ‘CNS strength activation’ i just about lose my shit. guaranteed, 90% of the people saying this don’t know what the CNS is.

On a related note, I feel like this today:

Very nice pressing there lady. Completely agree with you on the CNS BS. I have yet to fry it out, and I hear people talking about how they did. Bitch, it’s called GPP issue!

I don’t normally listen to that type of music (whowuddathunk), but that song has some catchy lyrics.
