My thoughts are with you and your family, Dashie. Hang in there!
ouch. sending some healing vibes your way Dash.
Hope he pulls through quickly, Dash!
Sorry to hear about your step dad, that must be rough on your mother. Sending good vibes your family’s way. My mother lost her ability to speak following her stroke and it is incredibly frustrating (the communication part of her brain is damaged so she understands things but can’t reply, even writing things down is beyond her, sadly). I hope things start to go better for you.
Echoing what everyone else is saying about your step dad!! So sorry to hear that!
Sorry about your stepdad ![]()

I LUH YOU!!!
(so the very)
You say you back but I NO SEE YOU!
All I have is this measly Baroness and I wants my Dashie right MEOW!

This statement is only allowed because I no longer wear glasses.
Neither does Dash… this Adam Hughes drawing DOES remind me of her though!
Dashie is backie! Maybe for srs this time! Hallowed wants, hallowed gets.
Stepdad is doIng very well post surgery. He just needs to make some adjustments to not being able to speak. He is very animated and in good spirits. My mum is doing much much much better. Thank goodness. I appreciate everyone’s thoughts x 100000.
Exactly two weeks ago, I had a gym mishap. Not sure if I have mentioned it, but I have a microgym/training studio business that needs my attention at times. I don’t train much there, but needed to do a little payroll. A good hour into my desk-work, the boys who work there (primarily powerlifters) came in to make fun of my former crossfit life. somehow I got talked into doing a few butterfly pullups. Completely cold and in not workout clothes. I did four and felt a really bad bad burn in my shoulder. Next day, I couldn’t move it! It was miserable. Luckily, I have super unlimited access to all sorts of electrotherapy devices and I seem to be back!
Started a new cycle of 531. Will do one more cycle then hit contest prep mode. I’m feeling pretty good about this year. I have kept a pretty strict paleo diet for a while now and have been IFing for about two weeks. I usually have some protein source, a stupid amount of veggies, 2 servings of almonds somewhere throughout the day and fruit pre/post workout. I do some supplementation.
Work has been busy. Finishing up a CEU workshop design for athletic trainers. Should have free time soon.
Ummm…today’s workout was a big bunch of crazy. I intended to just do some cardio-ish stuff and wound up doing the following
15 minute jog to the gym (just under two miles)
Looked at cardio pieces…they did not appeal to me.
A1) 10x3x95lbs clean/press
B1) chin ups 3x5
B2) single arm snatch 3x5 45lbs
C1) hanging leg raises (slow and controlled) 3x10
C2) reverse crunches 3x15
15 minute jog home (just under 2 miles)

Thanks! I felt remarkable…actually, the bad shoulder felt better than the good shoulder. I am pleased with the recovery route I took.
Someday, you will teach me how to Clean.
and Snatch.
Glad you’re back. Your training is always so inspiring.

“Looked at cardio pieces… they did not appeal to me.” <<<<< LMAO!!! A summary of Powerful women right there!
Great job on the workout! Keep posting, damnit!
Hallie—i will absolutely show you my snatch. Wait, whaaat?
Nadia—I’m glad you say that, as I equally enjoy your log. Ah. Love PW love.
Olee–Hahaha! I’m such a cardio snob some times.
I’m traveling a bit. Yesterday I dropped into a crossfit gym and we did fight gone bad. It’s
3 rounds, 1 minute stations as many reps as possible. I did it as RX-ed for men.
1.) wall ball, 20lbs and 10ft target
2.) box jumps, 20in box
3.) sumo deadlift high pulls, 75lbs
4.) push press, 75lbs
5.) c2 row for calories
(1 minute rest after all stations are done)
I scored 275. Blech. Forgot how much I enjoyed this stuff. Will be throwing these workouts back in.
Today I stopped at some random gym. Kinda played it by ear.
A) conventional deads
Warm up
185x8
205x5
225x5
B1) RDL 145 4x8
B2) neutral grip pullups 5x5
C1) glute bridges (feet on ground, shoulders on bench)
135 4x8
C2) DB lateral raises 15lbs 4x8
Nice deadlifting! I’d probably hurl if I tried that metabolic work right now. Ew ![]()
