Just be aware that the lingerie pics to come will spread joy and happiness throughout the land on this the season of giving, peace, and love for our fellow man (or hot woman).
Did I mention I lifted with Jim Wendler the other day? He told me he can’t believe how much stronger I am than at this age than he was.
I’m here!!!
Scj—I am Jim Wendler.
Okay…so…busy Dash is busy! Still obvi gyming and such. Today was bad day, though. Last week after my run my hip flexor
felt very tight. I spend a good amount of time stretching, foam rolling, using a
Tennis ball, etc and it felt fine today. Today about halfway through my run, it started acting pissy and now I have some discomfort. It’s not necessarily pain but it feels WEIRD. I’m going to not run this week and let it heal. However, hip extension is bothersome, so I’m worried about fuck all: deads, squats, Glute bridges, cleans…all of it. Oh well. I’d rather take a week off running and super heavy shit now than a bunch of time off later. I’ll get a good bench day in tomorrow and then do some electro therapy on it.
Work is busy. I mentioned before that we are opening lots of training facilities across the US and it’s starting to really be time intensive. I also have a full time coaching job. Today, My business partner and I were asked to design a CEU course for athletic trainers. I can’t say no, as I think it’s going to be a great opportunity . However, it’s gunna be a busy few months. When the course pilots, I
have to be the instructor for the first few months. Good money, lotsa travel. I’ll adjust though ![]()
Other than that, nothing is new. Will keep y’all posted on bench day tomorrow!

ITS TRUE.
Here’s the proof.
Yep.
Dasher=JimWendler
CLEARLY.
Dasher-sorry about the hip flexor. You’re wise to take some time off. I think running through hip flexor pain is what gave me sciatica. And that took months to abate. So glad you’re busy and happy with work. Sounds like things are really going well for you. And of course, you’re modeling lingerie! Wow.
Agreed with Nadia on the flexor pain - I still don’t know when to hold or fold with mine…Hope it goes away soon!
And congrats on all the job stuffs!! You rock, girl. Keep dominating!
Holy shit, Hal!! I just laughed so hard at that meme!!! You chose such a scary picture of me.
Masch/Nadia—I’m really sad about if because I was making hella progress. Just as empowering to me as yanking a PR dead is running a sub 21 minute 5k. Oh well. Hopefully it’s a small set back. I may try to learn to swim during this little break! I’m historically a terrible swimmer, but I just need the calorie burn. Even if it’s flailing around in the water, I’m giving it a try.
Thank you both on the job kudos. It’s been quite a road for me. Happy to be becoming who I wanted to become ![]()
Okay. Bench in an hour.
Also: I’m having a little dinner date on Thursday at mi casa. I think I’m going to try and cook steak. Any recipe ideas?
I fully sympathise. I ran my first half marathon in May and definitely wanted to do more races. Then I bust my foot. I’ve not been able to run consistantly since then and it’s pissing me off. Tried swimming but the chlorine made me sneeze and snot like I had a cold (plus, the other swimmers pissed me off. Running time is me time, daydream time - swimming doesn’t give me that).
Still, it does sound as though your hip flexor is just jammed up. Have you seen anyone about it? I recommend ART if you haven’t tried that before.
You are SO SCARY in dat picture Dashy! but sexy. Oh yeah.
SWIMMING!!! This is velly velly exciting! I happen to be a MOST EXCELLENT Swimmer. I totally suggest some kickboard stuff for you. Kickboard dolphin kick Hard and fast one length then slower back… good workout. Also when you are strong enough butterfly stroke with legs holding that floatie thingie between the thighs (OOOOHLALASOHAWT) crazy good workout.
Yes I swimmed the butterfly
and the breaststroke.
BreastStroke!!!

edit: for best results, the guy is preferably non-ginger.
^^ LOL Hallowed, I used to compete in swimming… when I was like 6-8 years old. Breast stroke was actually my specialty (some would still say it is NAHMSAYIN), and I was decent at freestyle.
Dash - ribeye, on your bbq/grill HIGH, 5-6mins/side (if he likes it medium rare, aka if he is a real man), 7mins/side if he likes it medium (in which case it should be your last date with him).
Personally I think less is more with steak seasoning. A small amount of garlic/salt/pepper, and a little bit of steak rub which you can buy at any grocery store. Fuck now I’m hungry.

pretty much x2 on the above. Less is more with steaks (if you have a good cut)
Keys to Success:
-
Make sure and leave the steak out of the fridge for 60-90 minutes before cooking. you want the steak at room temp when you cook it so it cooks evenly.
-
Make sure the grill is very hot before putting the steaks on. Let the steaks cook for 3-4 minutes and then give them a quarter turn and get the nice grill marks on the steaks. Presentation is key.
-
The secret ingredient… Butter! seriously… throw a small little slice of butter on top while its cooking… NOM NOM NOM (but watch out that it doesnt drip and start a little mini grease fire which can cause the steak to burn a little.
-
After cooking, plate the steaks and cover them with tin foil to let the steaks “settle” for 10 minutes or so.
I has been vvvvveeeerrrry bad logger! But I’m back. Been laying off the running for a bit now and letting my hip flexor recover. It actually feels pretty decent: undetectable. I’m going to err on the side of safety and not run for another few days.
Steak turned out great. I went with a really weird recipe, but it was good. I don’t love steak so it was whatever.
Christmas was good. Had an interesting dead lift workout on Christmas eve. Godzilla and I were deading together, which required a lot of racking weight for him and unracking for me. I ended up sticking to 200x5 for a couple of sets. the aforementioned Godzilla was kinda following along with the 5/3/1 I was doing for the day(he usually just kinda freestyles his workouts). We calculated what he should do on his last set. He ended up with 575x11. Wtf. Hip flexor was fine until I tried to do good mornings. That was a no go.
Today I did a lil of this
A1) bench
Warmed up to whatever
3x90
3x100
6x110
B1) underhand grip wide seated rows 5x8
B2) overhead db press <—random shoulder exercise. Not sure why I did this 5x5
C1) neutral grip pull ups 5x5<—20 seconds between sets.
D1) wide grip lat pull downs 4x10
D2) Chest flys, machine 4x8
D3) Hammer curls 4x10
E1) straight arm cable pull downs 4x8,8,8,7
E2) DB incline press 4x8
E3) triceps move I stole from dani 4x10
F1) close grip pull downs 4x10
F2) pushups 4x10
Hai!
575 x 11…holy shit. Can we get a picture of this monster? No homo (well, maybe just a little).
Lol he actually isn’t outta hand. Very strong, but not super freaky huge. He competes as a light 220-er
Nice training, suga’!
200x5 on the deads is good stuff.
And those N grip pullups are stout. Well done!
575x11 is ridic. Must’ve been fun to watch.
Sank you sank you! 5 pull ups is usually easy peasy…but the timed rest interval…things got shakey towards the end.
And yeah…boy is fun.
OH I BET HE IS. YOU SURE TALK ABOUT HIM A LOT!
Bug—why you yelling?!? You are ruining tnation for me!!! (just kidding, booboo) srs note: you look thick in that new avi
Side notes: I used ZMA for the first time last night and slept like a man! Incredible. Also: I have been doing like…no cardio. I always though I would blow up if I didn’t do some cardio, but I’m only up a pound. A pound that I’m blaming Christmas foods for. I ain’t even mad.
Squats today.
