It's a Dog's life

Call today a GPP day - 2 hours of snow blowing and ice scraping. The joys of spring! More is on the way Friday night. Bur Friday day should be a good ski day!

The squat is a big head game and it can go either way.If you focus on your technique and set up you can get away from the mind game of the weight.I think your box squats look fine. You have a great self motivated quality training at home by yourself.Keep hitting it brother.Great work.

Thanks Jimmy - I use all you guys here for motivation.[/quote]

And you motivate us.

Thanks E - but I’m not sure why I would motivate anyone.

Spent the day skiing in fresh powder - well it was spring powder which means wet heavy powder - fresh snow none-the-less. Provided quite a workout on the quads.

The storm is supposed to hit the front range tonight - right now it is just partly cloudy.

I’m beat…

Sounds like a good day solo dog. Snows done here thank goodness. Just a few patches left.

Had another 18 inches of snow since Friday night. That meant another couple hours cleaning the driveway today. Other than that I’ve just goofed off this weekend enjoying the last days of spring break. Back to work tomorrow and back to a training schedule. At least as much of one that circumstances allow…

Best training to all…

George

The year winter never ended. Hang in there Soldog you’ll be back on the bike in no time.

Arrrrrggghh! Getting another 10-12 inches of snow here tonight/ tomorrow too. FACK!!

Cleaning the driveway is a workout in itself huh? Hang in there.

Some of that may be coming our way. Keep shoveling

Yeah it is a workout of sorts but I have no excuse other than laziness for not doing any other training…

Doubt it will be in the same form for you…

Wado class tonight. Had a good session until sparring with an 8th kyu (1st rank beyond white belt). Managed to block a hard kick with an open hand (not recommended). Dislocated the middle joints of the first two fingers on my left hand. Had Sensei pul them back into place and finished the last 15 minutes of class. Not swelling too much now - we’ll see how much of a grip I have tomorrow for upper body day…

Ouch.

I won’t be able to make a work-out until Wednesday, family obligations, but ouch.

More ouch today - they swelled up overnight and I can’t even use them to turn a doorknob right now. I think tonight might be a bike only night.

So I’m not doing anything tonight except soaking my fingers in ice water. Tried taking pictures but the colors aren’t coming through just yet and the swelling just looks fat.

I could almost make a fist tonight, so I went to Wado class. And what do you know - we sparred for 30 minutes of the class. Worked on my footwork and evasion techniques and kept my left hand closed…

First time trying the Sissy Squats per streamline’s suggestion (thanks stream!) from months ago. I think I’ll like them once I get the hang of them.

sissy squats and hindu squats will really enlarge the quads. My bw is so monstrous I cant do them unless I hold onto a zepplin or something

With the sissy squats I found that having my heels elevated on plates helped with the stabilization. Other than that I had to hold onto something.

I looked yesterday for a good video of hindu squats but didn’t find anything. Do anyone have a good link?
