It's a Dog's life

First morning on the road: managed to get up way too early by my body clock and did 30 minutes on the recline bike and then leg extensions and leg curls on the weight machine. Somebody else had the upper body station occupied, so I’ll try that tomorrow.
It’s a start…

I gave into the weak mind today and slept for an extra hour instead of getting my ass out of bed. Setting my sights on tomorrow…

Anything is better than nothing.Consistancy will pay off at any level.Good to see you back at it.

Thanks Jimmy - I did get my butt out of bed this morning and did some bike, some weight machines upper and lower and then incline walking. Wasn’t much but was something.

I’m going to echo everything Jimmy says.

That may be what it takes to get me out lifting again. Wife is going to Wado Ryu tomorrow, I’m headed to the eye doctor. But I’ve got time to lift if I time it right.

Back home and working from home - but took a break for:

1/17/09 Saturday say hello to the iron day
10 min bike w/u
Shldr rehab
back squats barx20, 135x5/5, 155x3, 175x3, 185x3
front squats 135x5/5
Sumo DL 135x5, 185x5, 205,5

The weights went up OK but I fatigued quickly. My GPP and endurance must be way down.

thanks for the support Jimmy.

E - just get your schedule going again.

It’ll come back quick now that you’re back to training.

I just had to say cute westie in your avatar!

Finally going, you’ve been an inspiration. Wish you luck in recovering.

Do what you can until you can do more. You should look into one of those doorjam pull-up bars and some push-up bars to take with you. Be a lot easier to design a traveling workout if you know you’ll always have the right equipment to do it.

Keep the thoughts positive and you will always succeed.

The whole crew is pulling for you bro!

Thanks guys! I’m re-learning my lesson about laying off for too long…

1/18/09
20 min bike (pushed the heart rate to 150)
shldr rehab
chins 5/5/5
bench barx20, 65x20, 85x10/10/10
db row 81 right 5/5/5, left 5/5/5
db ohp 32.5 right 10/10/10 left 10/10/7
20 min bike (pushed heart rate to 160)
shldr stretches

He’s back hitting the iron. Has the time off helped the shoulder?

Things seem to be coming along nicely Dog, good to have you back!.. let the muscle memory kick in and you will be back and passing where you were before.

No -sorry to say the shoulder has gone backwards. I’m starting up the rehab and stretching again. So I’m taking it a bit slowly with the bench pressing reentry.

Nice going soldog. Doc told me once if it hurts lay off it for a while, anyway, hope your shoulder is well soon

Thanks DZ - problem is that laying off exercises make it worse because of the other factors. My work is primarily on the computer and that is the most probably the root cause of the issue.

Last night - Wado class: stiff and sore
today - travel again for this week and maybe thru the end of the month. I’ll find out Thursday evening after our “Red Team” review of the proposal.
