Israel Invades Lebanon

Eliminating ignorance, or at least poverty, might help. However, yeah, it might require editing a few religions a little bit. I think that would be better than extinction no matter how much they (all religions) object to the concept.
That sounds so sweet and…socialist! No thanks. That’s scarier to me than what we’re facing now.

If we just let the Islamic nations around Isreal destroy this “pretend nation”, who do you think they’ll come after next? It’s not about a tiny piece of land. They hate Israel because they’re not Muslim. And 9/11 didn’t happen because a bunch of guys had something against tall buildings - they want us gone too.
JustTheFacts wrote:
I’m very well aware of Israel’s military – but why should they expend their own resources if they can trick American Christian’s into fighting their battles for them?
I don’t hear Israel whining for us to come form a “coalition” to get their soldiers out. The only reason they haven’t acted many time before is because we held them back and dragged them into ridiculous talks that just got them to give up Gaza and make other concessions for our misguided “Peace Process” to get nothing but more violence in return.

They’re not asking anyone to fight their battles. But they’re not letting us hold them back this time either.

This is correct. Radical Islam is at war against everyone else.

The leader of Hezbollah wants to lead an Islamic state.

Same old story as in Africa, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan…

Don’t worry, its still early in the conflict.

Have you any basis for that supposition? Because, last I checked, they have historically done a fine job at taking care of themselves. When have they ever asked anyone to fight their battles for them?

Radical Islam itself has not declared war on the west, rather Radical Islam is being used by different people to justify their fight for their cause. These people do not hate Israel and the US because they are not muslim states, they hate them because these countries are seen as occupying forces trying to take over their countries. The whole War on Terror imo needs to be looked at a different way because when we are invading and occupying countries like Iraq because of the war on terror, we are in emboldening the terrorists and making their own case for them.

Excellent post.

JustTheFacts, your points of contention, as at least I’ve witnessed, are well-founded and extracted from legitimate, mainstream sources & publications. It’s applauding how you cast skepticism towards what the average person believes.

Kudos to you for challenging what’s being spoon-fed to the masses. It’s uncanny how you connect the dots via information-gathering techniques to support an idea or concept. Politics and the way they’re presented these days have as much to do with facts as they do with private beliefs and public perception.

Peace be with you.

These attacks have been happening before we “occupied” any of these states.

Who did we “occupy” on 9/11?

Ah man, I am at odds here. On 1 hand I just wanna see the Israelis beat the living piss out of everyone around them, I mean, if it was American soldiers being kidnapped like that I’d be all about bombing the living piss out of the bastards, consequences be damned. On the other my bloody gas bill keeps going up, let’s do something useful, like sort Nigeria out?

Huh? Israel is an apartheid state?

You have any idea how many Arabs live in Israel?

Who is safer - a Muslim in Tel Aviv or a Jew in Damascas?

Nonsense.

I hope this does turn into a full blown religious battle to the end. Then we’ll all know which side was right and what religion we should follow.

JTF, you know we wouldn’t allow Israel into the Coalition. We hold them back more than we enable them.

Msnbc, Fox, CNN are reporting that Syria has announced it will support Lebanon and Hezbollah.

MSNBC reports Israeli Ship hit by unmanned plane.

This all seems so orchestrated to me. Their objective was obviously much bigger than to kidnap a couple of soldiers. I’ve never seen such blatant provocation. The only theory I’ve heard is that it’s a big coincidence that all this broke loose as everyone was waiting around (like suckers) for an answer from Iran on their nuclear program. Feels like we’re being baited.

Syria and Iran worked with Hezbollah to provoke this war in an attempt to get rid of the democratically elected anti-Syrian government of Lebanon.

Syria claiming they will support Lebanon is ludicrous.

They don’t hate Israel because they are not Muslim. Many Palestinians are, in fact, Christians.

Israel is hated because it is Jewish.

Many of these neighbors have vowed to burn Israel off the map. At least one is trying to develop nuclear weapons.

These neighbors support terrorism against Israeli civilians and have done everything possible to continue the trouble between the Israelis and the Palestinians thus leading to the condition you refer to as apartheid.

While Israel is sometimes heavy handed it is obvious that the true villians are the terrorists and their state supporters, not the Israelis.

I fail to see how any rational human being sees otherwise.

Sure, not gonna argue with you there. But if you think even Israeli Arabs (discounting the millions in the West Bank and Gaza, who live in territory that is either militarily governed by Israel or “independent” but subject ot Israel’s every whim) are equal to Jewish citizens, you’re kidding yourself.

When a HUGE minority of your population, who will be a majority within about forty years, have no rights and no political power whatsoever, you are an appartheid state.
