I can’t seem to find a ton of events in Minnesota, there is one tomorrow that is hosted by Brutal (Who the fuck are they?) but in comparison with other states we have virtually NOTHING…
We have the American School of Martial Arts, which has a BJJ class, and combat jiu jitsu, but I don’t think either of them have a lot of competing members that are successful. Not to mention ASMA is probably the most racist school in the area(If you speak of any god other than the christian god, or if you wear traditional garbs anywhere… they don’t want you. Hate muslims etc.)
Someone recommended mma.tv for finding events but MN isn’t even LISTED on that site, whats wrong with MN, is there some sort of law preventing mma?
I think Team Bamf trains in or around st. paul. Brutal (what EFX used to be I think) puts on shows pretty often at the Myth nightclub in St. Paul. Minnesota actually is one of the first states to make laws in regards to MMA I believe at least.
There is also a lot of stuff that goes on here in good old Iowa. Look into Midwest Cage Championship, and greensparks.
There is also Mainstream mma its a small orginazation but it sometimes shows on t.v. here in Iowa.
Battle in the Barn, man! There is plenty of MMA in the midwest. It’s mostly grass roots, save for the odd UFC event in Ohio (and one coming up right in Minnesota) but Monte Cox is trying to change that with Adrenaline. Half the UFC roster seemingly comes from the midwest, and Minnesota has a shitload of great fighters like Sean Sherk and Roger Huerta. There might not be events right down the street from you, but keep your eye out. Check the upcoming events section of Sherdog.
Is Dangerzone still around up in MN?
