You might say the movie was unfaithful to the novels or whatever, but to say it was a bad movie is complete and utter bullshit. The movie was great, period.

MY opinion is I will not watch this movie because of who they cast as the lead character, Yes it could be a good movie, but I could give two shits. BECAUSE of who they cast.
Would be like watching a documentary of Michael Jordan and have Michael J Fox play his part.

I also enjoy the Reachers novels. I’m not so sure I’ll enjoy them as much after I see this movie. If I hear Tom Cruise in my head when I read the next one I’m going to be pissed.

How many sprinting scenes were there? I saw the requisite car scene in the trailer.
Seeing how all the threads pop up about how disgusted so many are about the casting of actors for movies with already established characters, either in novels, myth or comics, this one being the most recent,
who would you have cast in a particular movie, this can be a movie in production, a movie already out there, or a movie you want to see made.
for example, i think Dwayne Johnson (the Rock) would make a perfect Shadow, if they ever decide to make Neil Gaiman’s American Gods novel into a movie.
I hate to break it to you, but Tom Cruise didn’t do that bad of a job. The movie was much more based on the psychological, the pursuit (see T-Nation tag line), and the piecing of the puzzle. There was action and yes, the little one that is TC pulled it all off well. I would like to tell that Brian Bosworth would make a great Jack Reacher, but “the Boz” doesn’t have the acting chops to pull it off.

So basically the movie doesn’t resemble the books at all except for the name Reacher. Sweet.
