Is Obama THAT Clueless???

O_o “Worst president in history.” You’re right he probably doesn’t know what “capitolism” is, but I’m sure he knows what capitalism is. Calling Him the worst president already!!! You my good friend are an idiot. Let’s give him some time, and THEN we make that call.

I’m from the Northeast (NY) and I have never heard of or would think to associate an acorn with christmas. My mom makes trays of christmas cookies every year and never once out of the hundreds of different cookies I have had, have I ever seen an acorn cookie. I’m not saying it might not be a tradition somewhere, but it’s not by any means a universally accepted symbol of christmas.

V

Wow just for fun I googled “christmas cookies” and then clicked the images tab. I figured I must be mistaken and an acorn cookie is probably pretty popular like some here have mentioned. Surley I will see an acorn cookie or two mixed in a batch of cookies someone has made and taken a picture of. Well I got to page 20, which is 400 of the most relevant images associated with “christmas cookie” and not one single cookie shaped liek an acorn in the bunch. I mean I’m sure if I kept digging I would eventually find one, but i think i’ll just accept the fact that Acorns really are not associated with christmas, unless you are obama and like to fuck with people.

*newsflash
China(and Japan) have owned us for years. Who’s to blame for that?

Also, insert GWB,C,GB instead of “O” and what you say still holds true. But Obama is the exception in the pace and frequency of spending in a bad economy. We all know the bad economy is not his doing…but we can’t live in the past…too much.

Oh,and we already drill our own oil, gas, coal…take a trip to East TX if you need proof. But I assume, you are saying that we need to drill more,no? The entire issue of drilling more of “our” oil is not as cut and dry as it may seem.

Google “acorn Christmas ornaments.” You know that associations with Christmas don’t stop with cookies, right?

I’m sure people’s location in the country and/or their own Christmas upbringing is relevant to associating acorns with Christmas. If pine cones can be associated with Christmas(in East TX they are)…I’m sure an acorn can.

Except that a pine cone comes from what? A pine tree, which also happens to be the same tree people have been cutting down and putting in thier livingrooms for hundreds of years around christmas time, actually calling them christmas trees. Look I’m not saying there isn’t some people who may find some small connection with an acorn and christmas, but it’s not widespread. Hell I could google Dildo chirstmas, sponge bob christmas, race car christmas, rocket christmas, or anything else christmas and the internet would provide me with images of those things and thier association with christmas, however I think if O would have made dildo cookies or sponge bob cookies, people would not be defending them saying, hey those are christmas related cookies.

Widespread or not…there is enough validation to say that it wasn’t absurd or some “conspiracy” with serving acorn cookies. That’s all I’m sayin.

I’m not saying there was any widespread conspiracy, but at the very least some idiot said, hey what kind of cookies should we make for the white house christmas party, or whatever the event was. And when someone said, hey how about Acorn cookies. Every single person who heard the person say that out loud should have said, What Acorn? I think we should probably avoid that one, you know, Acorn and all.

So while it may or may not have been done on purpose, at the very least it shows how out of touch the people running this country, and the people around them are with the rest of us.

Like the White House head chef?? Look,“out of touch” is one problem…but so is hysteria and knee-jerk reactions to interject politics into everything…even a cookie. Both are equally pathetic.

I just searched the internet for christmas and acorn to see exactly where I could find any connection of the two and any history of the relationship. This is about the best thing I could find in defense of the white house. Again, whoever decided to make an acorn cookie is stupid, at the very least.

Quoted from another forum:
"Here’s my take. Chances are neither the President nor his staff get involved in the decisions about the shape of the cookies except to set the theme. Then the pastry chef and the chef accomodate that theme. The theme of the party was “Reflect Rejoice Renew” and the acorn is a symbol of renewal. Perhaps more importantly, the theme of the Bush 2007 holiday party was “Holiday in the National Parks.” The cookies served at that party

Park Trees and Leaves Cookies
(Gold Magnolia Leaf, Pine Cone, Acorn, Oak Leaf, Aspen Leaf, Elm Leaf)

Since the chef now was the chef at that party, I suspect they just re-use the cookie cutters from year to year and thus - acorns."

Possible, but still stupid to not have any political common sense, I don’t care if the chef made the decision or not, if your the chef of the white house you should at least pay attention to politics.

What’s the chances that the chefs do pay attention to politics…but don’t give a shit or a second thought about “political correctness” in making acorn cookies for Christmas??

Sometimes politics are the last thing on someone’s mind…even when they are “into” politics. There has to a line drawn as to not make us too sensitive or hysterical to ANYTHING that can be related to political issues or symbols.

All kinds of silly shit would rule our lives if we let that line disappear. Right-wing people will be calling for Eeyore to be killed off in Winnie the Pooh. And left-wing people will poison elephants at the zoo.
