Colbert Speaking to Congress About Immigration

What a waste of time.

Fixed.

It went about as bad as it could have. But, it did provide for a distraction from the Coates’ hearing on the DOJ’s handling of the NBP dismissal, which I am sure the White House is happy about.

If Dennis Miller said the same thing, he would be “a racist.” Just sayin’.

If this was under Bush the media would be pointing out how America has become a joke when he is up there. Instead we have Pelosi saying that this is what America is all about. What a damn shame. Whats sad is all this other folk think this is real news.

How much money did we waste letting that stupid fuck speak ?

The committee gets like 19 million a year to run. If you average that out per hearing its a couple of hundred thousand dollars.

If TV characters can now speak in front of Congress, I’d like to see Jack Bauer from 24 and/or Stewey from Family Guy testify in front of the intelligence comittee.

Well, if you are going to make a mockery of an institution, you should at least do a better job of it than they do themselves.

It shows the contempt that they have for the American people. Just wait till November…

That chick over his left shoulder is trying so hard not to laugh…

3:30-4:40 Was good, the rest was a waste of time, its a Congressional hearing, not a comedy club…

Is there a difference?

A rough estimate is this cost taxpayers $125,000

I thought that was funny as shit.

And a waste of time, as well.

Where does this number come from? Considering that the government payed for none of this travel expenses, the only “cost” is in time. Since congressmen are not payed hourly, I have a hard time thinking that payroll to the secretaries that coordinated this and utility bills for five minutes added up to over a hundred grand. But maybe I’m missing something.

In the end, although this isn’t a big deal it’s easily made to fit into the nice narrative most of you seem to have, hence the wailing and gnashing of teeth over mythical amounts this supposedly cost the almighty taxpayer.

You know, there’s a nice rally going on next month for those people who just can’t get enough of these sorts of stories.

The 125k is the average cost per hearing ON TAXPAYERS and not mythical at all.

Divide colberts time by the total time and you have like 40k maybe. It was a mockery, and shameful. Should never have happened. Invited to speak by the dirtbag dem chair. What genius really thought this was a good idea?

Yes you are missing something…

Are you referring to the rally held by people who couldn’t think of doing a rally of their own, until SOMEONE ELSE did it first? Or are you thinking of the rally that will be a complete dud, held by a complete dud?

By the way, I appreciate how Colbert reminded everyone how nothing got done on immigration, a very hot topic for many people, especially since Obama promised Comprehensive Immigration Reform (Amnesty) to all the illegal alien/open border people. Thank you Mr. Colbert, you just helped Obama lose what could be the only voting bloc left who would help him, the mythical Latino vote.

Colberts character was supposed to be a parody of all those “narrow minded republicans” that actually want to enforce our border laws. How shameful we are thinking that we should try to keep America safe by enforcing the law. Well, I guess that Colbert bit really showed us how silly we are after all. (eye roll)

Colbert and his liberal pal John Stewart are a couple of DNC toady’s. When the DNC says “jump” Stewart and Colbert merely ask “how high”? It was a disgrace and the voters will heap even more punishment upon the DNC for this clown act.

Thank God this democratic charade will be over in a matter of weeks.
