Is Masturbation a Sin?

Is that in Genesis?

That second part is in Judges.

This is the funniest thing I’ve read all day.

Depends on which creation story you subscribe to, Genesis 1 or Genesis 2.

I know that after I finish, I get both clarity, and a much lessened drive to do anything.
I dont see that women really get “post nut clarity” or the lack of drive/interest after climax, but I haven’t finished all women, either. Lol.

Masturbation for men is a great way to fuck up your life. At least, if done in excess.

As far as I know, the Bible is primarily used to teach men to become good Shepards. Meaning they lead and protect the weak.

I dont think there’s much in the bible about women in this regard, because being a good woman is far easier than being a good man. Y’all are born with your value.

That being said, I think religion is a hoax, but also a well-thought out means to an end. And women’s agency was rather inhibited some 2000 years ago.

not speaking for pwn, but yeah pretty much. Its why female sexuality is restrained in every single religion.

I’ll speak from my own experience during competition prep.

Food and energy got so low that my sex drive was gone. Literally just not interested in it. Didn’t think about it, didn’t have urges, nothing.

It was surprisingly freeing. Male sexual impulse is both the best and worst part about being a man. Like all of your potential is bottled up in your balls, so being careful on where and how you use that potential can determine your life trajectory.

Or you fall into impulse and waste the potential you just had.
Horrible dichotomy.

Or actually understand that both chapters are the creation story. Chapter one is the Creator speaking the world into existence and chapter two switches to man and the woman living with God in Eden. The last five verses point to the primary focus of the Bible through the relationship of Adam with his bride, foreseeing the Last Adam and His bride.

That’s one interpretation. Another is that they come from two different sources.

The second seems more credible to me.

My guess is that you don’t believe either one of those are correct.

It’s kinda like when the same movie script gets shopped to two different studios and they both end up making/releasing them at the same time.

No, I think they’re both relevant for different reasons. What I don’t belive in is the univocality of the Bible.

If I believed that I would consider any reference from the Bible as just another man’s opinion.

Isn’t it, though?

The original was written in Latin, then translated into many other languages, primarily olde english.
Idk if you’ve ever read the English of the 15th century, but it’s an entirely different language.

So assuming the original was true, and accurately preserved for the 1000-1500 years prior, you’re still reading the translated version of a translated version of a book that’s written in a dead language, hoping that transcription was accurate.

It’s always been just one man’s opinion.

Since you hold to two different sources of creation are told in chapter one and chapter two, what verse in chapter two begins the material of the creation from the different source?

I own a facsimile of the 1611 Bible. The spelling is sometimes different and the font is barely readable.

I would be interested to see how the scripture has changed in its 2000-2500 years of existence, and how the different translations between Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic end up.

My point was that its always been someone’s opinion on what the original says.

Precise.

About male sexuality. I agree, it’s kind of freeing to understand how it works, then you can control your own desires.

Men can be quite pathetic when horny, specially young men. A bit of stoicism goes a long way here too.

Quick preface - I don’t intend for this to be combative or dismissive of your views.

I find the mental gymnastics apologists go through to justify a univocal reading much more “another man’s opinion”, than meeting the text on it’s own terms, which includes some major contradictions and obvious editorial choices that have filtered through the translations and revisions.

Can we get back to masturbation please?
