I keep hearing really good things about high-intensity interval training, and I’m curious as to whether or not it matches the hype. Anyone with first-hand experience as to the muscle-building and fat loss?

It’s purpose is not to build muscle and if your lifestyle before wasn’t completely sedentary it won’t.
It’s the most time-efficient way to burn calories which potentially (depending on the diet) lead to a decrease in bodyfat.
Judging by your pics this is the last thing you need to worry about.
i tried it it before i started the OVT program and I liked it alot. I only performed HIIT 3 maybe 4 times a week for about 15-20 minutes.

I agree.

I agree.
For your size, you need to hit the weights and start eating. Don’t over complicate it yet, cuz from your pics, you’re a beginner. Most likely you’re going to grow just by eating and lifting. No need to overwork yourself right now.
I did HIIT for a few months. Didn’t help me at all with muscle building compared to just weight training. Some people respond to it, some don’t.
I think it’s a big energy drain and takes too long to recover from each session to be ready to lift the next day.
If I want muscle, I eat a little bit over my maintenance calories…if I need to lose fat, I eat under. And I always bust my ass in the gym. Seems to work for me.
You need to experiment and see what works for you.
