Is Anyone Worried That Coronavirus Is Going To Kill Their Gains?

If anyone wants, check out FitnessFAQ’s on YouTube. He’s got a decent channel, not really a douce, and while I think he squats sometimes, gives some ideas for leg workouts at home and pretty much only trains his upper body with his BW. Definitely most of the movements are out of reach for me, and would provide a great goal to work towards. I don’t like it as much as weightlifting but it’s something.

Look, not only are the boys being affected, every day we are more women in the fitnees scene. I HAVE A GYM exclusively for women, imagine my frustration. My girls and I were in the middle of a challenge for a temporary vacation that was coming and everything has been suspended, in addition that for us women it is a little more complicated to adapt the habit at home with everyone at home. We will see how to deal with it in this matter. Thanks for the space to express …
It is not the same or easy to be a fan of the fitnees in reality, all this generates a great delay, however much we try to adapt, those who are having a great time are those Fortnite fans

worried about killing my gains? No.

worried about killing my parents and child? yes.

Ok, so this is getting ridiculous.

I was all good with having 2-3 weeks out of the gym… however now my patience is running thin.

I do have a mate who has invited me to his own home gym a few times but as a younger guy e has a really bad habit of inviting me over at random times 10 minutes before he trains.

How much longer will this go on for?

If you want to maintain gains… buy a pair of gymnastics rings, get them delivered to you’re house… they’re very difficult to use

Furthermore pushups, regular dips, pike pushups (you can progressively overload these to an extent) etc

Add weight to movements like ring dips (Using whatever you can to weigh yourself down)

For cardio, go for a jog

I already have rings, but I live in an apartment with nowhere to hang them from.

Looks like it’s hill sprints, pushups and pull ups from the soccer goal crossbar.

bring the rings outside with you when you wish to use them. Hang them up on the soccer goal crossbar

It’s going to be a while yet. I don’t see that many governments have yet kicked up their medical resources to deal with a rush that letting folks out would create and no vaccine is in sight…

If you’re in the states, don’t be surprised if this goes on through June. Mid-May would be extremely optimistic.

Less worried about my gainz being killed as I am me being killed:

56% chance of infection (medium risk band)
0.6% chance of death (high risk band)

If you take this survey, take these numbers with a grain of salt

My pessimistic guess is that things are comparable to before 12-18 months from now.

Sorry, not fully getting your wording. You’re saying your opinion is that things could be comparable to before all this happened in 12-18 months?

Yes. But then I live in one of the least affected countries with regards to policy changes and political fallout.

For legs I put my 3 yr old on my back and do lunges and reverse lunges till I can’t.

He loves it lol

And I am in terrible pain

That’s pretty good. I’ve tried a lot of that kind of work, but my kids are so wild and jumpy… they won’t hold still. It becomes more of a core/balance exercise trying to keep them on!
I have two 3-year-olds and they both want to be on, so the other one is always holding a leg… it’s crazy.

Not too worried about losing gains, I’ve actually gotten leaner during this just by eating lean, and jogging more plus a lot of body weight exercises I don’t usually do. I do miss the routine of going to the gym everyday after work and blowing off steam, it was very meditative for me. Aside from that my gains aren’t decreasing as fast as I’d expected so I’m not too worried.

Is now a good time for a caloric deficit?

I’ve heard mixed reviews stating a caloric deficit can be bad for the immune system, and other reviews stating that some weight loss can improve the immune system.

If I can’t push heavy loads during this time, I’d love to get my reps up, get my conditioning up, and walk out of the quarantine with some visible abs.

This is my new excuse. I’d totally have abs but I’m trying to keep myself safe.

But is that for real? Because I’d love to pursue a new goal of having abs and visible serratus. I’m recently divorced and gotta bring my a game

Is your question, “is it unsafe to be in a caloric deficit right now?”
