Ironmantrw's Path

Appreciate it Eco. I decided to can the meet this weekend. There is another one coming up on March 14th in Asheville, NC. I’ll probably lift in that one.
You all don’t know of anyone who needs a 53 yr old loom tech with 16 years experience working on and setting up Jacquard flat woven, woven velvet looms and sectional warpers. I also have supervisory experience and some computer skills  I can also lift a lot of weight.

Mobility Work

Bench 270x3x3

Extremely weak on bench, I think the prednisone the Dr put me on may have had a something with it.
Permanent layoff turned out to be a false alarm. Some of the college guys came thru and red tagged all of the machinery because it wasn’t running this week.(Red tag means they are selling it off) They also asked my boss if he was going to take a job in another plant. Turns out they had no idea what was really going on. It really had me and my wife along with several other people worried for a couple of days.

Good news on the job Ironman. We college guys can be such dumbasses! Prednisone sure can wreck havoc on your whole body…

Excellent news Ironman - ditto on the college boys comment from j_willy

They are now officially dubbed the Asshat brigade. Jeez.

How long you on the prednisone for? Want to see you back lifting those big weights.

It was a short run. I’m off now and I still don’t feel 100%. I may take this week off and try to work my way back starting next week. I’m supposed to to get a physical on the 26th along with a hormone profile. I don’t think I’m a candidate for HRT but it probably is a good idea to have a baseline.

Sure these aren’t the same rocket scientists running the post office?

Hey, watch it! I resemble that remark - except I don’t pretend to be a manager.

A couple weeks off was probly needed with the weights you were throwing around. I’m sure you’ll be back in the groove in no time.

02/05/09 Bench

Mobility work

Speed Bench 200x3x8
Comp grip 3Board 275x6x3
Cable w"s 130x10x4
Hammer Tricep Press 180x10x4
Rotator Cuff work
Reverse Curls 75x10x4
Standing Abs 115x10x4

Taking it easy for a few workouts. I still feel weak on bench. I lost about 8 pounds of bodyweight from what I had 2 weeks ago. I’ll get it back fairly quick.

02/07/08 Squat

Mobility Work

SSB Box Squat 335x2x10
Keystone Deadlift 405x5x4
Hammer Low Row 410x6x4
Shrugs 600x6x4

I could tell I hadn’t done deadlifts in a while. They tore my hands up.

02/09/09 Bench

Mobility Work
Bench 260x3x6
Comp Grip 4Board 290x5x4
Face Pulls 175x10x4
Machine laterals 140x10x4
Rolling Dumbell Triceps 40x15x4
Hammer Curls 90x8x4

Not pushing anything at this point. Everything was fairly easy.

comin’ back nicely! those 90 lb hammer curls… dumbells?

I wish. They were on a Hammer Strength machine. I wasn’t really all that concerned with the weight just wanted to get in a little biceps work. After all you gotta have them big gunz:)

I hear ya… looks better when takin’ a swig of beer!

Glad to see you’re back hittin’ the weights. You’ll be back deadlifting 550 and benching 400+ in no time.

02/11/09 Squat

Mobility Work

SSB Box Squat 425x1 450x1
Walkouts 515x1 605x1x2
Leg Press 900x6x4
Ab Work

Squats were fairly easy. The weight just felt heavy on my body. I am trying not to push things too much right now.

Thats a hell of a box squat.

Thanks, I just feeling my way thru to my max right now. I’m pretty sure it’s more than 500 but I was having a little trouble setting up on the last set. Thus the walkouts which I had some trouble getting my feet set.
