Starting from her favorite park, down bike trail, through very urban areas. at least 5 homeless people, all very nice… One nit identified, lurking in very dark tunnel… Probably just there to escape the heat…
FINISHED NEW BIKE BUILD!
Ongoing minor adjustments.
Laying off upper body at least until neck doctor appoint next week… Hoping squats and dead’s have some effect in reducing atrophy…
DL
3x3x315 (felt f’n heavy!)
3x405 (it’s not going to be my day today)…
2x500(straps)
550 (jesus, barely broke floor, only got it up but bar speed was glacial)
550 (better, but still pathetic)
Best thing about this lift is that it is done w/o injury.
Saturday Ride.
New bike. some troubles with it hunting gears. I think the derailleur hanger got bent when car and bike rack got was hit by guy at bad intersection.

Sounds like the new bike is going well, fine tuning the gears is a fiddly task, it’s such a fine adjustment. I always tend to over adjust. Took me several rides to get it just right.
You’re certainly putting in the miles, have you noticed any bodyfat loss?
I’m hoping to get out on my bike next week. It’s hot here already (80 degrees+) I’m going to need to pack a lot of water!
I’ve been dropping fat pretty fast since a change in TRT. Weight is about the same. Lots more veins in arms. Too bad it’s first on last off.
I’m going to try riding before work m-w-f, plus weekend rides. I’m targeting >100 miles week for summer.
It is 20-ish minutes to a great bike path. Traffic here is nuts before and after work, too many people multitasking while driving. Why just drive when you can be on the phone, eating breakfast, yelling at the kids while driving. Mornings should beat the heat.
I usually run with a camelback for water. More water helps!
Plan was to do 20 miles in the morning, but wasn’t up for it for too many reasons. Figured the condition I’m in I really need to get mileage. So NIGHT RIDE!
I’ve always loved riding at night. But I do get concerned about the cars seeing me. So I’m taking a close encounters of the third kind approach to lighting.
Successful enough to know it works! Will do better next time!
They pulled telecommuting, thank you Yahoo! They gave the suits the excuse they need to reinstate old regime… Didn’t occur the suits that Yahoo! is a FAILING tech company…
Anyway will eliminate morning rides… Instead I get to sit in a car for 45 minutes. Might, just might figure out a way to commute. Rumor has it there are showers in the building if so and I can find a way to lock effectively… It’s 22-ish miles each way so that should do.
I’m in Johnston County, NC. I about 12 miles from the county seat is Smithfield where General Sherman received the news of the Souths surrender. When I moved there 10 years there was an old dilapidated sign near the entrance of town on the main near an old failing down mill. The sign read “Smithfield Proud Home of the Klu Klux Klan”… True to southerners historical accuracy it wasn’t. But it does give one a sense of what’s what…
My so lives in Chapel Hill, home of UNCC. It is quite progressive, lots of bike paths. Riding is usually rather pleasant even with the traffic. Quite the difference in culture!
Time includes stops. We usually stop for at least one meal or meal like snacks on longish ride. Given that I usually forget to start the timer after a stop missing miles… I just don’t shut it off…
Nice ride, relatively cool compared to last week!

Due to not restarting computer correctly, I missed about 5 miles… And worse a really nice speed run down a HUGE hill. I saw 40.6 mph but probably hit a bit higher. The disc brakes are wonderful! I hit 46 on my old Fuji, and even with death grip on the brakes they were ineffective. And no worries about over heating the tube and blowing out!
