It has been several fun filled weeks consisting of relaxing, drinking, socialising, 4wdriving, shooting and fucking. It’s been a a good break both for the body and the mind.
Tomorrow, the 8th of January, I am back at work and back into Muay Thai. Not going to lie, I’m going to miss my lazy days and I’m going to miss cracking a beer before lunch, but I am also looking forward to the next instalment of blood, sweat and brutality.
I’m currently in the process of drinking the last alcoholic beverage I have in the house (Smirnoff double black if you care) whilst carefully considering and calculating how I will make the coming year my bitch.
Some dot points for easy reference and professional feels:
Get recruited into the Army. Whether it be general entry or officer role, this is a must hit goal for this year.
Maintain or increase fitness and get better at physically manipulating people bigger than me. Achieved through attending Muay Thai.
Put on some quality mass and improve on moving my body through space. This is a secondary goal that is achieved by waking up early and dragging my sorry arse to the park for calisthenics workouts.
Stay healthy and keep serious injuries away.
I have many non-fitness related goal but that is for another log/day to record.
Hope all had as much as a deserved break from real life as I have and may we all smash 2018 into submission.
This one I don’t mind but I have no intention of playing it or any other cooperative team sport. I’ve had my day of league, soccer and doubles tennis. I just wanna get hit and work on head kicking people. Haha
If I become an officer, I will probs be the dodgiest, out of the loop recruit ever! I definitely do not come from a military family or have a wealth of info on the arts of war, but I sure as shit will dig deep and give the instructors hell as they try to break me
Hey mate, I haven’t really had the time lately to even look through the forums much let alone log. I’m so behind on everyone’s log! Haha
Muay Thai has been going ok. Only been going twice a week though. The coach gets a bit shitty that I don’t go more than I get shitty about his attitude. My body just feels too beat up if I go anymore than twice a week and my goals are the complete opposite of having a beat up body. Thinking about looking around for a BJJ school actually.
Good news on the Army front though! I got a call from them 2day and an opening for my Officer Selection Board came up for next week. I jumped on that so now I have a heap of cramming and preparing to do before I leave for Canberra next Monday. So excited!
This is such a positive because if I get in as an officer I can think solo about that and if I don’t get in than its one less position to think about and I can pounce on the next QM or Recovery Mechanic vacancy!
Haha not quite, although I did have a pretty full on Aussie Day! Really need to settle down on the binges. Although in my defence a binge has gone from sinking a carton of heavies or a litre of bourbon to having 8-12 beers over that many hours. Baby steps
