Iraq Death Toll

Have you looked in a mirror lately?

Not only that, but when do we get Cream pics in the picture forum? I assume he is saving his legendary progress in the gym for just the right time…never. It is amazing that someone with the log name of a dessert topping has so much shit flying from his mouth at every given opportunity. I am about as sure that he doesn’t lift weights as I am sure that JeffR has a blow up Bush doll under his bed for “special” occasions.

Damn, don’t let me stop you!

Argumentum ad hominem. None of the bickering really proves anything except you are too easily bothered by people you don’t know. When you allow sillyness like this to bother you, you give too much of yourself to one another, not to mention destroy the thread. Too much ‘T’ floating around in there. Save it for your workout.

Actually I mainly rip people for being hypocrytical or overtly frothy. I generally only post on a few of the political forums that I have some knowledge or ideas about. And then I usually get attacked by vroom or elk and am drawn into a name calling fest. I know you and I have had it out before, but again, I don’t usually try and tell you your ideas are stupid or wrong, I do wish your delivery were different, but like many others, i’m beggining to get used to it at least and cen generalyy tell where your coming from.

Elk has a personal problem with me from way back which i’m not even sure either of us know why. Never the less, he loves to make fun of me and I guess thats ok. Hopefully I help his ego or something because my interactions with him really do nothing for me.

Of course if you can find any time where I initiated name calling and it wasn’t just playing, please show me. Also if you can find where I disrespected someone’s right to thier opinion please also show me that. While I can do it in one second with brother elk by simply scrolling up the page a bit.

Gee… a radar operator is talking about how much more his opinion matters on military subjects than anyone else’s, and how if you weren’t a radar operator than you are not entitled to an opinion on guys that are actually risking their lives. That having served in a bunker somewhere makes your strategic vision more valid than Jeff’s or Boston Barrister’s or anyone else’s?
I would never denigrate your service, until you started making bullshit claims like you got an extra right by serving out of harm’s way.

Let me tell you about my service, toughguy. I served in the bowels of an aircraft carrier and somehow I don’t think it positively affected my ability to make grand strategic calls. I spent the vast majority of my time with my thumb up my ass, doing make-work and reading books and praying for something to happen. I watched helicopters landing and bending the decks, met lots of interesting, bright, idealistic folks, and lots of ignorant, biddable, un-qualified folks as well.

There were the occasional moments of terror, but all-in-all I think the ports-of-call or the Marines stationed aboard posed much more bodily threat than anything else that I ever did. It was the most boring time of my entire life, and as much as I liked and respected (most of) the people I served with and am happy that I did it, I think it would be outrageous for me to say to a cop, who risks more every day than I ever did, was somehow not a first-class citizen because he didn’t serve as a radar operator.

Frankly, I think my volunteer teaching and coaching is a hundred times more dangerous than my service time was, so should I now tell others that I work with that they shouldn’t have an opinion about the actions of their government if they have never served?

Want to take this to the logical conclusion? Unless you were actually in the combat infantry and saw action you are not even allowed to have an opinion? That sounds like a dangerous idea. What about your mom? Is she not allowed an opinion? Even though she didn’t serve, doesn’t she have a stake one way or the other? How about Bill Clinton or Lincoln or FDR? Were they not allowed to have an opinion about military matters? What about George Bush? Was flying National Guard planes not risky enough to earn his right to an opinion?

If someone who had never served and would were going on and on about how we should invade country after country, fine, they ought to be willing to pay the piper. But no one on the board is doing this. And for me to come back and then tell my wife that she was not a 1st grade citizen and that neither she or my kids or my dad or my mom should be allowed to have an opinion on foreign policy…

As to the little pussy stuff, come on. I am not pox, and I don’t like to make fun of the hard work you’ve put in, but I was your size when I graduated high school before I started training. Hell my 57 year old dad had his shirt off the other day and he is your size, weight, and almost exact match for physique and he hasn’t trained since he was in the Navy. I did barbell curls with your bodyweight the other day, and my supplementation scheme revolves around a supermarket multivitamin.

jerffy quit lying about lording it over people you have done it since, I have been reading your posts. You first tried intimidating people with veiled threats regarding your size and you have then brought up numerous times that you are a cop.

I have always pointed out that many who rabidly support this action, I don’t agree with, are of age and able bodied yet they don’t serve. It’s a fact that recruiting numbers are down.

Don’t you think it would be honorable and the straight up behavior of a man who says out of one side of his mouth that this was totally essential to man up and go when people are needed.

Call me what ever you want to… call me lording over it and a blowhard an asshole whatever you want, but I don’t respect someone who is vocally loud in their support, but they let others do the dying if their is nothing but a job and family keeping them from signing up.

And as far as me dialing 911 what are you going to do put out a national APB “don’t help Elkhntr, he’s not a friend of mine,” Grow up Jeff, I really find it hard to believe you are a cop with the level of maturity you display!

Oh, and why do need to play an internet “lets pull out our e cock,” game with the gunplay? Do you know if I have ever been shot at or had a gun pulled on me? Do you know any other life endangering situations I’ve been in? You are the one playing this game jerffy, with your thinly veiled accusations and innuendo’s? Are you degenerating to the level of a cream or vegita? I thought you were better then that.

Damn straight!

I do not understand why some of you guys call Veg stupid.

I have not seen a regular poster here that has not said something stupid once in a while, his posts are usually intelligent and insightful. (other than his ass worship ones)

I just think some of you guys are using the stupid accusation as a way to dismiss his arguments.

elk,

Ok, elk. I shouldn’t have let you bait me into this again. I don’t like it when you hit new posters like Todd with your nonsense.

All that I ask is this: When you call 911, please identify the largest of the patrol that comes to your door.

Ask him if he supports the War in Iraq.

If he answers in the affirmative, say:
“but I don’t respect someone who is vocally loud in their support, but they let others do the dying if their is nothing but a job and family keeping them from signing up.”

If you are still walking, finish things off with: “Hey if you support the War, why didn’t you man up and go when people are needed.”

See how that goes.

I am trully sorry you’ve decided to go back to this tactic, elk. I expect it from pox. From you, I had higher hopes.

JeffR

Cream,

Your last post was wonderful. It’s going to be hard for elk to ignore you.

It’s too bad he forced you to slap him down.

I know that most in the Armed Services hate to have piss on another member.

He certainly asked for it.

JeffR

One more thing, elk, please find me one thread where I discussed my work without you and your, “Only Armed Forces members are allowed to support the War” commentary.

Good luck.

JeffR

P.S. You won’t find it.

Hey, shithead, I wasn’t a radar operator. I have not debated the Iraq conflict directly with any women or children. I pass my judgment on those that are waving the war flag high and mighty and could easily sign up for duty if they cared to! IMO that is the height of hypocrisy!

You have a family would you have been so willing to go to war with Iraq if George Bush said Cream we need you to go and head one of the infantry units headed into Baghdad? Would you go tomorrow Cream if they asked you to go? Would your perspective change if you were going to face the possibility of never seeing your family again.

And as far as your titanic size let’s see this colossal masterpiece tough guy!

Thanks man, to be honest I’m not sure why, but I think it stems from the same sentiment as why they love calling GWB stupid. Basically taking the lazy mans way out of debating me. Personally I don’t think i’m the best debater, but I am generally a communication freak and I don’t think my thoughts are ever misunderstood. Not agreed with? Sure, but everyone generally knows where I am coming from.

Wow, freedom marching jerffy, is advocating police brutality for those that don’t agree with the war in Iraq! You sound alot like Saddam, I’ll bet he would have loved you in his secret police force. Torture anyone who disagrees. Wonderful, jerffy, wonderful. You lose more credibility with every post.

I think it comes from the weird ass stuff you start talking about, like the time you were telling us you’d solved the telekinesis conundrum with your miniature tinfoil hat on a thumbtack.

I mean, come on. Sometimes the stuff you are talking about gets way way out there. Perhaps Zap hasn’t been around to witness one of these episodes yet…

GWB earns his stripes every time he can’t pronounce his name on national television. The debate about whether this is right or wrong is another issue, but nevertheless, his inability to communicate is really the only direct evidence most of us have as to his mental state.

See, these things come from what people see… so take another hit and explain the nature of the universe to us master Veg… it will clarify a mystery for Zap.

So the deeply open minded vroom can’t fathom telekenesis. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
Dude I’ll fucking pay for the plane ticket for you to come watch me do it. So anyone who holds other than orthodox views on reality and other such unexplainable ideas is a whack job? I think many of the great thinkers of the past were labeled as such by people who thought they were crazy.

V

Frankly, I think Americans have taken too much for granted lately. Just because the last few times we have taken military action have not needed any significant ground troops and could mainly be fought from the air or sea we have gotten into a comfort zone and now think that in ALL wars we should only lose a few servicemen. You make it sound like it’s a bad thing that we are helping out a supressed people. If you do recall our own Revolutionary War the only reason we had a hope or prayer of winning against the British was because of the French.

At the time, the U. S. had no naval power to speak of, but the French sure did and their hatred of the British made them a great ally in the war. Well, our hatred of terrorism and Saddam has made us a great ally to the people of Iraq.

Frgive me for being one of these skeptical people, being somewhat of an expert in physics. I will take you up on this offer. I would love to write a paper that gets accepted by Physical Review–one thing though: Is this something that you can explain or are you alone capable of this ability? For a person to be able to explain how he or she can overcome the laws pf physics is worthy of a Nobel Prize.

Deanosumo,

“Why Iraq and not Zimbabwe, Myanmar, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Syria, Egypt, Saudia fucking Arabia, Sudan… all countries run by questionable regimes. Why not bring them freedom too? Some of them even actually HAVE WMDs!”

An answer to this has been repeated ad nauseum - can’t help you if you refuse to read it.

Pro X,

“I seriously doubt many have thought that far or that deeply about it. I also think many falsely believe that we have reduced the number of terrorists. I think our children will be in for a very sharp awakening.”

Well, wonder no more. Such foolishness. Of course policymakers are thinking about the long term consequences of this war and its repercussions.

As for the number of ‘reduced terrorists’: the status quo wasn’t doing anything to reduce the number. I wouldn’t worry your pretty little head, though - I suspect men smarter and wiser than you have wrestled with this idea for many hours.

Oddly, I don’t think low-grade, half-read policy analysts rummaging about weightlifting sites like yourself have uncovered any novel concepts on the dangers of creating more terrorists through war. If I am wrong, here is contact info for the Department of State, let 'em know you have a few more variables for their Game Theory computer models, etc.:

http://contact-us.state.gov/

As is, policymakers on the right and left know full well the risks involved. The difference is what to do within those risk parameters. Bush and Co. think that toppling Saddam coupled with a push for democracy will overpower the anti-Western sentiment propagated by terror elements.

Are they right? Who knows. Have they thought about it? Uh, yeah.
