It’s the only fed we have here. I’d rather compete IPF than not compete at all. I just want meets to lift in.
How long is the drive for you to get to Montreal? CPF (formerly CPO) meets are held atleast twice a year in Montreal at Montreal Barbell. Cheryl and Ross hold amazing meets.
Chrisarmes,
Doesn’t the CPF (when did the name change?) have a raw division as well?

Yep, there’s raw as well (i believe both pro and am) and this year there will be a separate Raw Nationals in June in Toronto.
As for the name change, Beginning of the year. From what i understand, the original holder of the CPO name came back and requested it back, so they just changed the name. everything else is still the same (A/WPC sanctioned still and the old CPO records move over)

I’m in Nova Scotia right now, I could make the trip once or twice a year. Any more info on this, out of curiosity?
Yeah, no probs. fire me off a pm with any questions you may have. Whatever I can’t answer, i’ll give bruce/ross/clint a shout and find out from them.

Chris that is interesting, I didn’t know you guys had raw lifting as well. Is the squatting in the monolift still?

yep we do, Curd went raw in Montreal in June to try and take Clint’s raw bench record, and at Provincials we had a decent number of guys going raw as well. Both meets ive been to have had raw divisions and there are raw records kept as well. squats are out of the mono, but you can always choose to walk it out instead
This fed sounds awesome, so much more liberty.

No reason you can’t lift in both if you wish.
I’ve only started competing and all my meets have been CPU. I’ve only had great experiences so far, but I could see myself participating in CPF meets as well in the future.
oh for sure, I’ve never competed in CPU but intend to at some point down the road. As long as we get to do what we enjoy, it really doesnt matter where we do it
