Inzer Hardcore

I just ordered a Inzer Hardcore Squat Suit to get ready for the IPA worlds, previously in march i squatted 700lbs with old, loose knee wraps and a single ply Z-suit. How much do any of you think the Hardcore suit plus new iron wraps will improve my squat. I have heard some good things about the hardcore suits and any imput would be appreciated!

sorry for the hijack, but how much does a suit/shirt (like from really crap to the best) improve your lifts?

Whetu (a non powerlifter currently having my cherry popped my the westside protocol)

Is it a double ply hardcore? I think you should get a great deal from the hardcore compared to the z suit. The wraps should be better also. Im thinking of competing in the IPA in November. You gotta try the metal suits. There is no comparison. Mike R. did a 985 box squat last week in a metal with the straps down. That is unreal.

Whetu-I have no idea what i get out of my suit. I can tell you this. I did a 475+green bands with my z suit with straps down. With the single ply metal with straps up i came very close to 585+green bands. In my last meet 638 was a joke and a bad setup cost me 700.

Whetu is a virgin!!

Goldberg,

Are you referring to a single-ply Metal suit giving you that much carryover? If so, that’s enormous. Just interested.

FYI I get about 60-70#'s maybe out of my Hardcore vs a raw max.

Stay strong
MR

OGuard- The best thing to do would be test it out either on a max effort day with a box squat, or after dynamic day throw on the straps and take a couple singles this way you can tell if you need any alterations done to it.
PS - congrats on the squat, how much do u weigh.
good luck big martin

yes it was a single ply metal. It also takes me only two minutes to put it on so it could be a lot tighter. I theorized that i had 500 plus the greens in my with the z suit straps down. So im guessing it was close to 70-80 lb increase. But i dont know for sure because i didnt have the straps up on my z suit.

Whetu,

I dont know what the double ply suits give you, but from my experience with Goldstripe wraps and a fuckin tight Marathon suit that I used to wear.
1rm raw squat (belt) 240kg
5rm wraps squat 240kg

I was injured before going onwards (motorcycle) but I was planning 290kg (would have been easy, becasue everything else was piss easy) for a double almost a fortnight out from competition.
Depending on the suit I suspect that it could add a heap of weight.

The Inzer Hardcore suit is only single ply i beleive, but it is as thick as a good number of double ply suits. To answer the question, i am 6’3 and 265lbs. currently. Goldberg, is your metal suit a single or double ply? I have heard the double compares to a canvas in terms of rebound. Anyhow i have a small meet on the 19th which will be a dress rehearsal of sorts for the IPA worlds, so i will keep you guys posted on how it works for me then. Thanks

i’ve heard that the metal has a lot more rebound than the canvas. to me, that the biggest problem with the canvas is that you have to go slow because once you hit a certain point, the canvas just stops whereas the polyester suits allow you to quickly go down and dip to get rebound.

At my last meet i saw three guys bomb out in the canvas and one guy get hurt really bad. I will never use canvas. From my understanding using canvas is much like box squatting because it brings you to a dead stop unlike the poly. Bob Youngs said that they use canvas for the guys who dont get a good carryover from thier box squat. I get a pretty good carry over so Im gonna stick with poly gear. My metal is only single poly but it feels like a double compared to my z suit. Ill get even more out of it once i gain a little more weight. I figure once i weigh 265 it will be about right. Once i squat 800 in single gear im gonna make the switch to double ply squat gear. That doesnt include briefs though. Once i get the money im gonna get metal briefs and either a metal shirt or a double denim. Probably a double denim.

on elitefts they advertise the metal gear single ply as being made for narrow stance squatters, but from your photos you appear to be a wide stance squatter Goldberg. So i guess the metal gear single works for your wider stance also. By the way is the metal gear suit made of polyester or what is the fabric like? Also what have you heard of the metal gear shirts?

cheers

I’ll be honest with you…most of the guys in my gym are not big on the Inzer Hardcore. Most of us seem to like Frantz suits, and I personally am loving my Metal gear (I currently own briefs and a deadlift suit).

It’s impossible to know how much more you’ll get out of the hardcore, but if your old stuff was in bad shape, you’ll get something more.

In any case, I will be seeing you at the Worlds…sending in my entry form after talking with Mark C. (director) today.

I got the wide squatter single ply. i think its listed that way but there is no picture. I bought mine from Brent Mikesell.

I wouldn’t waste all that money on the Hardcore. In terms of single ply suits, go for the Titan NXG+ Custom Dual Quad(made to measure). Between using this and my stock NXG+ Fury bench shirt I pretty much decided that improvements in gear were getting out of hand, so i am laying off powerlifting for awhile. I was opening in the bench at 40 pounds over my shirtless raw max and moving the weight effortlessly. Titan’s stuff is unreal, look at what Steve Goggins squatted in the Boss suit. Also its WAY cheaper than Inzer’s top quality stuff…

About the Boss stuff…many of the guys here have torn the briefs for whatever reason…Paul Childress told me today that he tore three straight pairs of them because of how tight the material was (1020 squatter). I’m sure many people, like Goggins, have had success with them, but this is what I’ve heard lately.

By the way, 40lbs over your shirtless raw max is not that outrageous of a carryover…even for an opener.

Steve; what weight class are you going to be competing in at the worlds? I have heard the same thing about titan gear blowing out easily. I think the equipment thing is a matter of personal preference. Has anyone tried the inzer denim bench shirt, i am thinking of looking into buying one before the worlds.

OGuard, I will be in the 220 class open amateur. I will also be competing as a “junior”.

I am currently using an Inzer double denim, and absolutely love it. I’ve worn it twice, and I’ve easily hit a 40lb PR in it. It is the shirt of preference for many of the top guys at my gym.
