If you have 6 more weeks, I have a solution for you
Wrist curls and pronations ,twisting in both directions. Generally mostly for higher reps .
Is that what you did to increase wrist size? You’re saying those exercises actually promote bone growth?
Not sure probably tendons. I am not sure my wrists have grown. If they have it’s by a quarter of an inch .But there many people who do steel bending , handstrength exercises like grippers , thick dumbbell work whose wrists have grown a little . Suppinations and pronation exercises.
It’s not necessarily healthy.
Just focus on a small caloric surplus and you and everyone else would grow. Strive to outgrow the online calculator.
Even if they did, it would have literally zero impact on the number of muscle fibers or muscle bellies your body already has. Dont focus on the stupid calculators on the internet, just stick to lifting and beat the logbook.
I’ve thought I’d hit my genetic limit multiple times over, and proceeded to surpass it every time. Just stay consistent and don’t be afraid to try out a new training modality every few months (strength camp, volume camp, and intensity ‘HIT’ camp).
Theoretically, any external load should help signal skeletal remodeling.
I thought this was mostly bone density, is this not the case?
Is this thread serious?
It is amazing that the OP seems to stay on subject. I’d have come clean by now.
You’re correct, but what is that if not bone growth?
My understanding is it’s not so specific. The bone is both broken down and rebuilt. Load signals some more “built”. The idea, then, is you build a little extra so it gets a little thicker. I remember seeing a couple studies on bone strength improving past baseline with resistance training, but I don’t think they actually measured thickness so it doesn’t sell my story here.
So… I dunno. I was just making stuff up and was rightly called on it.
OP, Lucky you I had just enough bourbon to speak my mind…
Become the best version of you that can exist and ignore everyone else’s opinion.
Don’t let a formula “constrain” your efforts…forget that!
Wrist size calculator…bullshit. 1 RM calculator…nonsense. Find out for yourself what you are capable of. Don’t ask for permission. Don’t ask if it’s optimal. Don’t ask for forgiveness. Do you.
You are the product of thousands of years of struggle on a harsh landscape that doesn’t give a shit if you live or die. You wouldn’t be here if your genetics were shit. Don’t believe anyone who tells you otherwise. Get to work and a decade later you will reap what you sow.
Become the best version of you and don’t think sideways about it. Stop listening to talking heads on the internet. Get a barbell on your back…in your hands… feel that struggle and learn to love it. Do that over and over and over until people start to think you must be stupid to keep putting yourself through it. If you are gonna become a stronger version of your current self this is the only thing that will work.
Effort….for decades…f$&@ their calculated limits.
If you find my physique impressive, that’s really all that should matter. If I tell you my arm circumference, it won’t change anything. I haven’t measured my arms in at least a decade anyway. All I care about is 1. do my arms look good in a tight black t-shirt and 2. am I getting progressively stronger on weighted chinups?
You’re really not gonna get anywhere if you spend any more time mentally masturbating over these arbitrary metrics. In my 15 years of lifting weights, this thread is the first time I ever for a second considered my joint sizes. Right now, it just sounds like you don’t really wanna pursue bodybuilding, and that’s totally fine.
